If Solomon doesn't get cleared (which he wont because, lets face it, it's us we're talking about here), we are in trouble
I have us at 6-6 +/- 1

Unless Savion Williams is as nasty as he appears, and Middleton plays like a grown arse man, we're really fricked.

Niehaus now quitting football . Probably run off by JP, even if he's saying injuries; but another blow to depth.
We have the worst luck with linemen quitting football

I'm not concerned with the offense as much as I am the DL

I think Niehaus leaving is a good sign. My theory is he probably thought he had a starting spot locked up since he started a few games last year but his leaving means there is some serious competition there. We finally have some talent on the line, albeit very inexperienced at tghis point. I am feeling better about it now than i was a few months ago.
DL however is bad bad news. If we let the RBs from UGA, Alabama, UF, etc into the second level, they can easily break long runs. Those are more demoralizing than anything.

I am optimistic for a bowl game (depressing this is where we are) and improved play on both sides of the ball.
I do think the defense will be serviceable and the offense has a chance to be pretty decent; Chaney alone will be an improvement over that Helton nerd.
Agree with others itt that the trenches will do this team in and teams with elite talent on the lines will most likely buttfrick VOLS.
Bottom line: 7-5 is the most likely record for our young Volunteers imo.

There's been a ton of buzz surrounding RB Eric Gray. He's supposed to be pretty electric.

I like him a lot, his fumble issues were way over hyped last year.

I believe you're thinking of Jeremy Banks and I agree with you that his fumbles were/are correctable freshman mistakes. He showed good flashes last year but still has work to do.
Eric Gray is a true frosh (Class of 19). He was a TN HS prospect that we pulled away from Michigan last December. He was the 3rd rated APB in last year's cycle and rated 5th in the state (high 4 star). He had an uncle that played for Ohio St.
Gray has been drawing rave reviews from those who've seen him in action.

I agree, prof, a lot of buzz on this kid. And I think Chandler has a huge year. I actually think VOLS have a decent little backfield. Just hoping (once again) that somehow our OL makes tremendous strides.

My arse is going to be chapped every time slawdog Jordan or butterfingers Banks gets a touch instead of Tykevious or Gray iwabh

So apparently Bryce Thompson was arrested on DV charges. No details yet other than Price saying that it is minor. Hopefully, he's right.

According to a report from WATE 6 in Knoxville, sophomore cornerback Bryce Thompson has been charged with domestic assault following an incident on Saturday night in Knoxville.
According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Thompson and an unidentified woman were arguing at the Stokley Hall Dorms on UT’s campus. Thompson was allegedly overheard threatening the woman, and a witness claims he threatened to “shoot up the school” as well.
The responding officer says damage to the dorm hall building was seen, and a gate was ripped off its hinges.
Thompson was arrested and released from jail overnight after the altercation.
Domestic Assault is gonna be a suspension, at a minimum. No reports of battery so far, let's hope it stays that way.
