The unspoken message in this hire (and the Sport Sci center) is that the old man ain't going anywhere. You don't invest in these upgrades and personnel changes and leave for the lake in a year.

I havent thought about that aspect of this situation but I agree. You don't make these type of changes at the end of the road. That's one thing that has put Saban on another level as a coach. He sees a flaw in his system and he adapts. Just like when he brought in kiffin to change the offense, or when we started recruiting different body types on defense
