So I cut the cord on cable and need help.

I got rid of xfinity and now I have a WiFi signal and a roku. What should I do to watch Bama football this year? There is an ESPN app on the roku but what about the CBS games or SEC network? Many thanks in advance.

Fair warning: You'll be delayed about 5 seconds no matter what when you stream. First advice is go buy a digital antenna($20) so you can pick up the major stations without streaming. You'll be grateful when the game is on CBS instead of ESPN. No delay on antenna.
I use Hulu Live personally, it's like $45 a month.
I haven't browsed the packages this year, but sling had a package previously that could get you all the Alabama games for about $25 a month. However, it doesn't have Fox Sports or the other networks that other conferences play on, so I opt for the $45 Hulu. You can get them all through sling as well, but it's also about $45 - and you don't get all the perks of Hulu.
During the offseason we switch down to just no commercial hulu without the live TV.
Pretty sure you need an account with some provider to watch the ESPN streaming services. I find it best just to stream via the provider most times.

I also hear good things about the Playstation network thing, but I have never used it directly.

Hulu Live or Youtube TV has live local channels so you won't need an antenna.

Data, I'm going to do my yearly thread for watching the games on the internet soon, but in the meantime I'll tell you that the best, easiest way to get HD streams of Bama games (at this time) is just to use a computer/laptop, connect it to your TV via an HDMI cable, and then use this website: https://old.reddit.com/r/CFBStreams/
All the games will be listed there on gameday. Make sure that you are using a browser with an ad blocker. I recommend ublock origin. And since Goggle Chrome has basically become corporate spyware, I'd recommend Firefox or Vivaldi.
Regarding other cord cutting stuff, like watching TV, movies, and live TV, I'd recommend a device with an Android OS, and Roku doesn't do that. I believe that to get Roku to do anything useful, you have to pay - at least a little. And all of my recommendations are free. Personally, I have no use for a Roku device, but if anyone out there has Roku advice, please chime in.
If you get an android device like a firestick or similar, the world is your oyster. If you've got the dough to drop on an nvidia shield, it's the best cord cutting device on earth. Just an incredible machine.
And for the record, it is possible to watch everything on earth absolutely free if you know where to look.

I did the trial of YouTube, but didn't see any sporting events during for testing.
Overall I liked Hulu better and find it a better deal. The library they have where you can binge watch stuff netflix style puts it over the edge.

I've got sling TV and the 5 dollar sports rider, which includes a bunch of ESPN's and the SEC network. Get a high def TV antenna for CBS and you won't miss a single game.
Easy peasy.

I like to post during games and often times if I'm not careful I'll see "Touchdown" posted before I see it on the TV. When watching live on antenna, never happens.
Some games are better than others, but 5 seconds seems to be about the norm for me.

I've found those to be unreliable in the past.
I pay for the privilege of having someone to bitch at if the game isn't on.
But it's certainly an option if you need to save the money.

Oh, 1 very important thing about Hulu is don't get it if you move around a lot. They don't really like it when you change locations. So if you plan on being 1 place 1 weekend, and then somewhere completely different the next weekend, probably look somewhere other than Hulu.
They give you 4 location switches a year, and you can get them reset if you call. But it's a pain in the arse.
Not an issue for me since I only use it at home, but could be an issue for others.

I have YouTube tv and love it. They just went up from 40 to 55 a month though. I’ll probably cut it off from January through August and save a few hundred bucks.

Actually man let me back off that "one second" declaration.
It's about two or three seconds. Probably closer to two. I know it's not five seconds though. I'm pretty pleased with the stream rate. But it's certainly not one second.

I'll check it out but is it reliable though? I tried some janky website or whatever last year and although I could pick up the game, the quality and streaming was poor.

I use DirectvNow which is streamed and pay $60 a month and that includes HBO and Showtime. I did get locked in to a low price because I started when it first came out plus they offered a free Appletv. For local channels I use a digital antenna and Tablo that acts as a DVR for local channels. Amazon has an OTA box that does the same thing, but with a built in recorder. The Tablo has to use an attached hard drive. Good luck finding what works for you.

Everyone should do what they think is best, and I don't live under the same government as most here. Perhaps your ISPs could be slowing you down or whatever.
But I've been using r/cfbstreams for a few years now, and every single Bama game, or any other game for that matter, has a crapload of links that work perfectly, many in High Definition. I don't think it could be easier or better.
However, I also have fast equipment, fiber optic internet, and ethernet connections from the device to the modem/router - and am also good with computers. But anyone who's computer illiterate probably should pay for it to be spoon fed to him/her. For sure.
