Does the SECrant and Tigerdroppings owe their success to Saban?

I say personally say yes.
Saban comes to LSU just as the internet is really taking off and TD is born. It starts as the crappiest LSU sports site.
But with Saban's success in the following years the LSU fans are revitalized and looking for any way to discuss and follow their team. TD capatilizes on Sabans success and grows...
Then Saban leaves. Under Miles LSU has continued success using Sabans recruits...
And then Saban returns to the SEC at Alabama.
At this juncture the internet has matured into what it is today. Facebook, youtube, iPhones, etc are all now available. And what better way to discuss the evil Saban than to run to the internet and end up at Tigerdroppings.
But it doesnt end there. Saban's success at Alabama draws a whole new crowd of Alabama fans wanting to discuss and defend their new coach... leading them eventually to TD as well.
At that point the SECrant grows exponentially until it is so big that it has to become it's own identity.
It was the perfect storm... Saban, LSU, Alabama, internet advancements, and of course the admins not being total douchebags that led us all here today.

It's thanks to Mississippi State. Had Saban not made his first priority to eliminate his biggest threat, then he would've been nothing. But he certainly knew what to do until now when it backfires on him

Is quite obviously thanks to Vanderbilt for creating the Internet.

The SEC was also just starting its streak of national championship dominance then. That had a lot to do with it.

We all owe everything to the almighty midget. How could any of us ever do anything without Nick the tiny almighty

No, this site owes its success to the fact that the TigerLair went to a pay site model.

I think the non-LSU fans that flood TD should be happy that TD exists. Is there another place such as TD that's as successful?

How would you know if you didn't join until 2008? Or are you just making a bunch of assumptions?
