The only two teams in the country to play Alabama, Georgia, and Clemson. Impressive

I can't believe this is the first time A&M and UGA have played since conference expansion. Hell we haven't played Bama in 9 years.

I don't see 3 automatic losses for Scar as impressive, but that's just me.

I think most preseason SOS rankings have both teams 1&2 with regard to toughest schedules this season for precisely that reason.

There is some debate about who is 1 and who is 2 though.

The argument in A&M’s favor is having to face both LSU and MSU ... but they also have Arkansas, Ole Miss, Lamar and UTSU and Texas State as their weaker opponents.

SC and A&M also play one another of course.

SC has Vandy and Charleston Southern as their weakest teams but also UNC and App State, neither are gimmes. Also Florida and Mizzou which are LSU’s and MSU’s equals on the SOS meter for the time being. Some might argue that Vandy trumps Arkansas this year but I dunno about that so let’s call it equal.

In the overall scheme of things the two schedules are pretty close to equal but most SOS polls have SC’s slightly tougher because of the OoC thingy.

So let’s look at home and away comparisons.

A&M plays at Clemson while Clemson comes to The Cock Pit.

Both teams play UGA in Athens and both teams have Bama at home.

A&M has Auburn at home, SC has to go to Tennessee.

SC has Florida at home, A&M has MSU at home.

How these two schedules shake out by the end of the season is going to be very interesting to witness.

The deciding factor may be that SC has to travel to A&M. Ironic.

BTW, Auburn’s schedule is certainly no cake walk.

We're 3-3 against Alabama last 6 times we've played them, and 5-7 against UGA. We'll be ready.....
