Also most improved and the biggest decline from the previous year.

I'll go first.

Best sport: Men's Track & Field - NCAA Indoor Champs, NCAA Outdoor Runner up

Worst sport: Women's basketball - (no shocker here) 2nd to last in SEC. Traditionally our worst sport

Most Improved: Football - Went 4-7 in 2017 and 10-3 in 2018

Biggest decline: Women's tennis - NCAA runner up in 2018 to 13-12 in 2019. Traditionally the best sport at UF

yes you are correct. It was a national championship event. There were trophies and everything. Javelin is very sporting.

For State:

Best: Tie between Baseball (53 wins, SEC West co-champs, 5th place national finish) and Women's Basketball (SEC and SECT Champions, 5th place national finish)

Worst: Volleyball. 5-26 and 1-17 in the SEC. Softball finished next to last in the SEC but still made a regional final.

Most Improved: Soccer. Hosted NCAA Tournament. First time ever to make the NCAA Tournament. Men's Basketball went from an NIT Final Four Team to a 1 and done 5 seed. They had improvement, but soccer has been a doormat.

State had 13 out of 16 of their teams make the NCAA Postseason (or bowl game in football's case). Volleyball, Women's Tennis and Cross Country better get after it.

Sorry, I thought we were talking the bigger sports that people pay attention to.

Men's Golf and Women's Tennis were probably the most disappointing. No reason for State to have a non-competitive golf team. I don't expect to win the SEC, but just about every other league squad was a threat in the NCAAs and MSU was lucky just to get in.

Best Sport: This honestly a tough one. Football gets 10 wins and wins the Citrus Bowl. Basketball got an Elite Eight. Softball went to their third consecutive Super Regional.

I’m gonna give the nod to football for historical purposes.

Most Improved: Football. It’s been a steady climb under Stoops, but they made a pretty big jump to 10 wins and a Citrus Bowl upset over a quality Penn State team.

Worst Sport and Biggest Decline: Baseball was pretty bad this season. Also had the biggest drop off from a Super last year to not even being in contention to make the post-season.

Worst had to be Basketball... we knew it was going to be a struggle with mismatched talent for desired approach with the new staff, but it was pretty tough to watch. Huge uptick in recruiting... we'll see if that pays off.

Best maybe a tie between Football and Baseball... Neither finished the year in grand fashion, but strong regular seasons had both in contention at the end of the year. If I had to pick, might lean Baseball just due to improvement over the prior year vs flatter performance from football YOY if not a slight step back?

Maybe not giving enough credit to some of the less heralded sports though?

Yeah Kentucky has been damn good in baseball for a while now. Definitely a down year for you.

Your baseball team was on my short list of who should win the whole thing. Sucks that you ran into FSU when they were hitting on all cylinders. You guys had a scary good team.
