Both in 2006 and 2008 we lost early in the season .
Which is exactly why you were lucky to get a shot.

Maybe not most overrated, but definitely the most under performing team in the modern era.
I agree with this. I’d say the most overrated teams year in and out is between ND and Michigan.

I just read the first page but noticed that Georgia posters just derided the writer and not the statement. We all know that they are, if not the most overrated, they are certainly at the top.

You're forgetting 1999 (11-0 FSU & Va Tech) and 2009 (13-0 Alabama & Texas).

Cincinnati was also undefeated in 09.

Awwww you seem upset little girl!!
Maybe over a century of abuse has created a widdle bitty insecurity? It’s okay- somebody find this sweet little thing a lollipop, preferably the hairy kind to make her feel at home.

Not BCS...
So you provided me with only THREE years in which there were 2 or more undefeated P5 teams vying for a spot in the national championship during the BCS era. Seems to me that 1 loss teams have been to the national championship plenty times therefore refuting your statement about how we were lucky to make there with 1 loss.

My point still stands. Just because uf isn’t the only team to get lucky doesn’t mean they weren’t lucky.

UGA is the 8th most winning team since 2000 and I'd be willing to bet their recruiting average is around there as well.
You're making my argument for me. How can you look at those numbers and say Georgia hasn't underachieved or isn't overrated?

That's true but Cincinnati wasn't in a BCS/P5 conference. Same goes for TCU and Boise State.

Because there are teams who are bigger underachievers and more overrated.

Yes they were. The Big East was a BCS (or AQ, since P5 wasn't a thing before the CFP era) conference. The Mountain West and WAC weren't.

So it's not just miracle/fluke you misunderstand, but also simpler words like "or"...

So you think an undefeated group of 5 team should get in the championship over a 1 loss SEC champion? Thats a helluva reach. Should undefeated UCF have gotten in the playoff in 2017 over 1 loss SEC champion Georgia?
Wasn't my point to defend, but if anyone would have been left out it would have been Alabama, not Georgia... they were the 4 seed... So if you're asking me as a UGA fan if UCF should have gone in over Alabama... sure.

It was a BCS league, but come on. It was way, way, way behind the other BCS leagues. The only other team worth a shite in the Big East that year was Pitt, and they took Cincinnati to the wire. That game ended 45-44 (one of the wildest CFB games I have ever seen, by the way). Cincinnati was solid that year but everyone knew that Sugar Bowl was a gross mismatch.
