To deny the effects of Saban culling his roster those early years is laughable. By processing 5-10 players and signing 30 recruits a year, he was able to build the roster a lot quicker than other programs. Nothing illegal about it, just a little sleazy.

Total Signees 2007-2010
AUBURN : 116
ALABAMA : 109

Weird - with that level of sleazy roster building its easy to see how 2010 happened I guess. Not illegal, just disappointing.

Facts suck

Houston Nutt loved to oversign. Would be interesting to see his later years at Arkansas and Ole Miss. Seems like he would have classes of around 35 players a few different times.

I know you are not in denial in this matter. You understand how many player left the program due to the coaching change at Auburn. AU still never filled those 85 scholarships those years ( not including walk-one). Big difference than running off players to keep under the 85 rule and sign 30+ recruits in a class. I give you more credit than that.

Signees =/= Enrollees, bro

I argued with Alahunter until I was blue in the face on the same issue.

What would the numbers look like if you take out the non-qualifiers? Auburn had a ton in 2007 and 2008.
