My dad was an RN. I got sick right before the jamboree game going into my senior year. Fever, shits, you name it. I was a newly minted starter and wanted to play. He brought a steroid shot home and gave it to me the morning beforehand. Result? I was wired off my arse. Didn’t even sleep the following night. Could have played another game right behind it.
