That’s a terrible argument. Pro football and pro basketball aren’t comparable in that regard.

It's not unheard of but it's still fairly rare that a player leaves school to go overseas to play basketball. When it does happen it's usually motivated by grades which I wouldn't think Jared would be struggling with.

Not really. Different sure, but not to the extent that I would ever expect someone to reasonable argue leaving college early with the only goal being to play in a developmental league or lesser pro league with the hope of one day playing yourself into an NFL/NBA roster is a good idea.
