How many times has he played a team even close to UK in talent, in pursuit of those 8 sweet 16's?

That's fricking impressive. I don't think he's overrated at all. I compare him to Mainieri all the time in their current jobs. Winning national championships is very difficult especially these days with the parity. It takes some luck combined with talent, coaching and health. I think he's an outstanding coach.

I used to be in the "Cal is overrated" crowd, but with how much turnover he deals with and how much he gets his young teams to improve over time, he does a great job.

He isn't overrated. Guy is damn good. Shady...but good.
