The wife is at a fund-raiser with her colleagues, so its a quarter-pounder, large fries, cold beer and burping as loudly as I want.

One of my dogs got cancer, we started chemo last Friday, and she didn't handle it well, and got worse, and died at 4:30am Monday morning. The sweetest dog I have ever owned.
Our other dog is droopy this week, understandably so, and she had her annual doctor visit Thursday for her annual shots, and we asked to do a full blood work up on her, and Doctor calls today and says she might have Cushings Disease, and needs testing.
My week has sucked, these are my children.
Our last dogs died 7 weeks apart, I'm worried I have the same thing about to happen.

I can relate friend. One of my dogs died about a year ago. He was a rescue, but very smart. It was like he knew what I was thinking, and would act on it. He was my best friend, sometimes I think he was my only friend.
I'm sure you know that as time passes the pain will abate.
The only comforting words I can share is that you loved your dog, and I'm sure she knew you loved her. Thats all that really matters.
