No one has ever made the claim here. So not sure why you would need to tell me

Do you understand interim doesn’t mean permanent?

Precisely. It means temporary, until something permanent is in place. Which means Will Wade, the previously permanent position holder, is no longer in that position. Otherwise, the phrase wouldn't be necessary.

Hope that helps.

Joe Alleva called out Will Wade following their game today.
Talk about feeding the trolls...

can anybody objectively explain why Alleva should do this, instead of just say "I'm proud of the players and team for winning this game, we look forward to Saturday, I have no comment on anything else"?

I mean, what's next, does Alleva go on the talk show circuit? Can we get him on Jerry Springer before tomorrow's game, so he can keep airing our laundry?

Wade will be fired if LSU gets past this weekend without him. Benford will be deemed "good enough" without the headaches of a coach discussing cheating on an FBI wiretap

It was not the best PR move for the University, but the blame belongs to Will Wade. I don't understand why LSU fans are so quick to want Alleva fired, but defend the guy who has embarrassed your University on a national scale, the likes of which have rarely been seen.

He shouldnt have, but it seems like he is just combating the releases Wade had been giving.

He should have just said we are looking into the matter and looking to resolve. No need to go down the road he did

Purely speculation on my part but perhaps he makes so many comments like this to distance LSU from Wades transgression to minimize damage done to the athletic department in case NCAA does find wrong doing or the FBI finds more or releases finally all that they have. Make LSU look like a victim as well.

I think that's exactly what's going on. I think "Lack of Institutional Control" is a serious concern for the administration, and they have to give off the image of taking a hard stance on this.

Initially, maybe so. Not yesterday

what has Wade released? Tweets, maybe? I haven't seen him respond to an actual reporter since this started.

Alleva (any AD) should not comment further on the suspension issue, until there's a change- fired or reinstated. Said over a week ago he was suspended, and why.

He released a statement regarding his asking for his immediate reinstatement.

quote:

STATEMENT BY COACH WILL WADE

"This morning, I advised President Alexander, Athletic Director Joe Alleva and the LSU Board of Supervisors that I would like to resume my duties as Head Basketball Coach. Last week, when the University decided to place me on administrative leave, I accepted the decision without complaint as I knew that they wanted time to reflect on the flurry of media reports. With the benefit of a week to consider the circumstances, I believe University officials should allow me to resume my duties."

"I understand that in today’s hyper-intense media environment it is extremely difficult for any organization, particularly a public university, to stand firm in the face of rumors, leaks and innuendo. In this case, the simple truth is I have been placed on leave because I exercised my right not to submit to a joint LSU/NCAA interview on the exact same subject matter at issue in an impending federal criminal trial in New York. My legal counsel advised the University that it would be wholly inappropriate for me, or anyone, to submit to an interview under these circumstances."

"Declining to be interviewed was a difficult decision for me, as I would like to cooperate fully with all parties, particularly LSU. To be clear, however, all I’ve done is follow the prudent advice of counsel to exercise my constitutional rights to due process. Given these facts, I don’t believe it is appropriate for me to be relieved of my duties. We have a great basketball program made up of excellent student-athletes and quality coaches. The players who’ve given their all for this institution, the students and alumni who are devoted to LSU, and fans all across Louisiana and beyond deserve to see this team fulfill its destiny. I love LSU and everything it stands for. What I’m asking for is the right to do my job while exercising my constitutional rights. I don’t think that’s too much to ask."

Just stop responding to this thread.

OP has nothing else going for him, so he smashes F5 on LSU’s message board to get “news” about LSU so he can run back here to update his unstickied thread (for which he’s upset about). Nearly every post he has made over the last two weeks has been in relation to LSU. The obsession truly is strange.

He, and a few others, keep bumping it as it falls off of the 1st page with posts such as “Updated the thread title” because they are mad that board admins unstickied it.

Just let him and those 2-3 other posters continue bumping as this thing falls to page 3. You responding to his pointless antics just feeds his lone desire.

You nailed it.

If Will Wade were as intuitive as you, this thread wouldn't exist.

You mean, if Joe Alleva were as intuitive.

Let's be honest- if Alleva would have simply stated "we will address this after the trial, when we hear everything on tapes ourselves, rather than a leaked excerpt that can't be confirmed":
other SEC fans would troll LSU, and Tennessee and Kentucky fans would bitch loudly.

And then, this weekend, March Madness would be totally dominating the media, and LSU/Wade would be an afterthought, a side note. And unless LSU beats Duke or similar, it wouldn't become more than a quiet one.

And then, the trial would occur in April, and things either come out, or goes away. If bad things come out, Wade gets fired and the NCAA investigates and the rest of the SEC points and laughs; if it goes away, we maybe get an NCAA investigation (but without hard evidence, so likely a minimal outcome if at all), and the other SEC fans troll and tease.
