Smart move, especially for Auburn. Any given year, Auburn would have to finish with Georgia, Bama, an SEC title game, and 2 playoff games to win the big prize. There good reason why only 1 or 2 SEC teams have beaten 3 ranked SEC opponents in-a-row since 1998. It's a tough chore for anyone, no matter what team you think you have. You'll have tired players while your coaches face decent coaching staffs, and then those opponents working off each other game-film for 3 consecutive weeks can tear any team apart.
I wish Bama could move the LSU game a little earlier in season. That game always takes a bunch of out both teams down the stretch, period! Bama finishing with LSU, Miss St, Auburn, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Clemson surly had to make the final stretch a tough chore. This is a reality many SEC teams could face any year....
More than not, programs from other conferences aren't finishing with that slate of tough games. The whole SEC would be smart, especially legit title contenders, to shift ending schedules around if need be. If not, many SEC programs will be at a disadvantage come playoff time.

I understand that. BUT Auburn has had that schedule for practically the entire IB & DSOR's histories. Saying it's an issue NOW is what's waving the red flag.

I see where you're going, but this makes no sense because somebody might be avg. now, heat up for a bit, & then cool of. What do you do about scheduling @ that point if you've changed it when they're hot?
