everything I saw had Lock going to Denver, but Denver just traded for Flacco. I'm thinking Raiders pick Lock, late 1st round, with the plan of him replacing Carr in 2020.

I’m not sure Flacco stops them from taking a QB

Only reason I don't think they take him is they take on 19 million in Flacco salary plus top 10 1st round money to Lock. that would be alot of money invested in QB's.

Flacco is only there for a year.

Me too. In fact I think it's in preparation to take Lock and sit him a year.

If they picked up Flacco as a UFA then maybe you could make the case that he is there for 1 year. But they traded for him which means they took on that terrible contract. Paying him 19 million and then cutting him after a year and taking the cap hit (Because of the years left on the contract) would be a stupid strategy. Elway may not be a genius, but I doubt he intentionally makes that mistake. He must see Flacco as 3-4 year QB for the Broncos.

Denver would’ve been better off just eating current QBs contract and drafting Lock.
Like someone above me said, Flacco has a few years and too much money left. Elway is looking like he may not know what he’s doing with the offense.

Flacco only has 1 year guaranteed. If Lock or whoever they take is ready to take over after a year they can cut Flacco at no cost.

They can cut him after next year with no issues.

Isn't it that they can cut Flacco next year and not pay him but wouldn't he still carry dead money on their cap space?
