This one was on us it seems.. the drama I was talking about is JJ thought he could commit yesterday and even called Auburn. He was coming to us.. last night we asked him to push back his commitment. I don’t know if it was a misunderstanding between him and the staff, or the staff and Saban. But it didn’t look good and pissed off a few people. It looks like we gave full court press, then when he informed Auburn he might flip we pulled back. I don’t know what all happened and I’m sure it’s a misunderstanding. It didn’t sit well because it made him look bad to the barn staff and know he is going there. I’m sure it will blow over or get smoothed over but it was talked about this morning. I just don’t understand why we wouldn’t take his commit right now??

Ironically I had something similar happen with me.

Anyways, as I said earlier guys should try to be happy about who we have already got and adding Jase.

Not doubting your info bc I know a lot of coaches here in Ms as well , but that seems a little strange to me . If it was on our part, then Saban will be all up in somebody’s shite or it could mean we are getting someone we were not expecting or just a made up story by people to let people down easy that the kid didn’t want to come to Bama

I think we still haven't really adjusted to the ESD aspect of recruiting. I'm not sure we ever will. Saban has always liked to slow play kids who aren't plan A, but with most kids signing in December now instead of February it's a lot more difficult to work those situations out to your own benefit. Kids want to sign early because they are afraid they won't have a spot in February. Especially the kids who aren't 5*, top 25 overall recruits that every program will make room for if necessary.
