Auburn commit enjoys Alabama visit, plans to return (BamaOnLine-VIP)
quote:

4-star WR JJ Evans 6-2/185 AL hudl AU

Evans returned to Tuscaloosa last Saturday for the Ole Miss game. “It was cool going back to see them, really got to watch the offense and just really, I guess, see myself there... “I know I’m going to Auburn, but just to watch the offense... I’m still kinda open.”

Five 2020 LBs with most interesting recruitments

quote:

Phillip Webb

Contenders: Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, Clemson

Recruiting outlook: Webb is being pulled in multiple directions right now, but his recruitment is mostly an Alabama/Auburn battle. Oklahoma got him on an official visit and that reportedly went well. LSU is in the mix but neither team seems to have built up enough momentum to challenge the Tigers and Crimson Tide. Clemson also got Webb on campus for a visit earlier this season, but it doesn’t look like his time there changed the dynamics of his recruitment.

Farrell’s take: I’ve always felt Auburn in this one, so I’ll stick with that and his early relationship with the staff. However, Alabama is making this a really close battle.

Jordan Banks

Contenders: Washington, Alabama, Ohio State, USC, Arizona State

Recruiting outlook: Banks is in reset mode after Washington reeled in a commitment from five-star Sav’ell Smalls. Banks was a shoe-in for Washington before then but now he is reassessing his options. He really likes Alabama, but the Tide may not have a spot for him right now. Look for Ohio State, USC and Arizona State to emerge again as his recruitment rolls on.

Farrell’s take: I think he ends up at USC in the end here. It's just a hunch. Washington looked like a lock and now this is wide open, but I get the feeling he’ll end up as a Trojan. If Alabama wants him he’ll go there, but I’m not sure how hard it will push.

That's A LOT of D1 talent. I wonder why Bama didn't seem to pursue Jordan Toles

Alabama stressed 'the fit' in Tuscaloosa to elite DL McKinnley Jackson

It's premium content so hopefully someone with a Rivals account can summarize for us.

Official visit. "Had a GREAT visit"

Learned a lot about how he would fit in. Spent a lot of time with Saban talking about the fit and need.

Alabama set the bar high. He has officials for Auburn, LSU, Ol Miss and A&M

No. 1 CB Elias Ricks on LSU pledge, latest with contenders (247Sports | Sep 28 | segments)
quote:

247Sports No. 1 cornerback Elias Ricks

"I'm solid," Ricks said. "I'm solid until something else better comes up..." He cut off 247Sports when asked if his recruitment was close to wrapping up. "Hell nah it ain't!" he said. "Hell no!"

Once IMG's 2019 schedule wraps up on Nov. 1, it's game on with Ricks on the visit trail... USC Nov. 2, Ohio State Nov. 22, LSU Nov. 30. Alabama and Georgia will receive the remaining two (OV) trips. "I'm still scheduling those," he said. He says all five have a shot but a clear pair sits as the top threat to LSU, in two of the last three national champions.

"Ohio State and Alabama are the top two," he said before noting some on-field differences. "Ohio State is a lot more zone... Alabama is kind of more man, some Cover-3, more get in your face type stuff. I can do whatever, but I for sure like playing man more."

"Signing Day I'm going to know," Ricks said. "I'm doing the first Signing Day and enrolling early."

Anna Hickey (Clemson mod) flipped her CB pick for Xzavier Henderson from CU to Foggy.

ETA: Hank is still trying to get an interview with him, following his Bama OV last weekend.

ETA: A UF mod has also flipped his Henderson CB pick from CU to Foggy.
