I'm not a LSU fan/grad, but grew up a saints fan. I haven't watched NFL in years though. I also haven't whined

I am an LSU grad and a Saints fan, and the reactions have been ridiculous. Was it a bad no-call? Absolutely. Did it decide the game? Hell no.
You had a 13-point lead that should have been 21 in the first quarter. You had a 3-point lead with 1:41 to go, but that could have been 1 minute and no timeouts for the Rams had Brees thrown a decent pass on first down and/or you run it three consecutive times. You got the ball first in OT with a Hall of Fame quarterback.
The Saints didn't do enough. They fell asleep during the fake punt, which was so obvious I told my wife the fake punt was coming before it was happening. They got dominated on both sides of the lines. They scored 10 points after halftime. They got outplayed after the first quarter. Their head coach never got over the no-call while the game was still happening, and it seemed to have an effect on his team.
I'm sick of the whining, but it's typical of our society these days. Let's blame everyone else and whining about fairness or the lack thereof instead of looking in the mirror and taking responsibility for what the Saints didn't do. Worry about the things you can control. Officiating is not something you can control.
