Saying it again (I know) but I don't believe Nick would pay 1.7 for a coach that he's never worked with before. Bama pays well but that would mean Golding would have to get over a million as well since he turned down Ole Missy's DC spot.

Golding will probably get a significant pay raise regardless of hiring Lake or not.

NEW COACHES
Defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski - $750,000, 2 years.
Inside linebackers coach Pete Golding - $650,000, 3 years.
Wide receivers coach Josh Gattis - $525,000, 2 years.
Defensive backs coach Karl Scott - $350,000, 2 years.
and Where's Lt Dan
Quarterback coach Dan Enos has an interesting 3 year deal. He will earn $200,000 in year one. It will increase to $250,000 in the second year and then will receive a major bump to $875,000 in year three.

I think this one's fake. He just confirmed that he's staying at UW. Don't understand it, though. Take the Bama job and be a HC in 2 years.
Here's the real question, though. With Tosh gone and Lake staying in Washington is Bama going to have trouble recruiting those west coast and island players they've recently been competing for?

Might be but hiring recruiters was a mistake and a big one. Our defense and OL was not any better from September to January. It does not good to have all that talent if you can’t coach them up to their full potential and this defense was still lost and couldn’t line up correctly.
