But in reality, we’ll probably finish 8-4.
2020 has always been the turn-around year.

I think most people just don't understand why the bar has been lowered for Jimbo. I've heard Mrs. Sumlin has a theory.

What does a turn-around year in 2020 look like? 10 wins? 12 wins?
I'm curious. I think Aggie fans say this because they play 4 OOC cupcakes and Vandy in 2020.

I think the Alabama game will decide whether or not we lose a regular season game. Whoever wins that one will be in Atlanta

Yes.He beat LSU which is worth 75 million. I guess from the rants that I read. Now he has to do it eight years in a row. right?

Fair enough. Texag7 says the same.

Now lets say he wins 9 with an easy schedule in his 3rd year. Does his seat get hot?

Sumlin got fired for wining 7 or 8 games. If in year three Jimbo doesn't win at least 10, what's the climate like in College Station?

The only real accomplishment that Jimbo had was the LSU game. And it took the refs and 7 OT for that to happen. They lost to an Auburn team that was at its peak of dysfunction.

With his contract, we’ll stay patient as long as their isn’t anything glaring. He played everyone well. He won 9 with a roster that Sumlin would had lead to 6-6 at best.

As long as he’s bringing in top 5 classes and staying competitive then it’s a matter of when, not if.

The GA/FL game this year was a top 10 matchup to decide the East (Kentucky was a formality). That will be the standard going forward, as it should be. Florida is on the upswing.

Judging coaches I their first year is dumb no matter how they did. Plenty of examples of first year coaches bombing then being good and vice versa. Year 2 is when you start to judge them.

No it didn't.The game ended up p being inconsequential
since Mizzou blew.them out the following week.

Maybe long term but the lose an awful lot on offense next year. They might have the same record because Mizzou and UK both take a step back next year.

Sumlin would have had a losing season in 2018 - first and foremost

Fisher is rebuilding A&M into an actual SEC team, with strong recruiting along the lines, and having to shore up a completely substandard LB group, and secondary. Those things are going to take time

- Meanwhile, A&M recruiting is improving in leaps and bounds, and I can legitimately see some big time talent in the signed class. A solid chunk of which will be at Spring practice this year
- Williams had the most rushing yards in the SEC this year. This is not a Sumlin spread attack anymore
- Mond has benefitted the most behind Williams. At times, he actually looks like a QB. Still inconsistent, though. Should improve more next year as gets comfortable
- The defense finished in an extremely respectable manner, which is all most fans have been asking for more than a decade. Now consistency is key
- Actual coaching of on campus talent - haven't seen that in awhile either

A&M will do some good/great things under Fisher. Will they ever win a NC? Who honestly knows - the SEC West is tough. Will they be much more of a contender in the West? Definitely. As for 2020, that is the year that Fisher's first recruiting class will be JR's, and his first "real" recruiting class won't be FR anymore.

Also, the schedule eases up a little in 2020

UF returns almost every weapon on offense except for Scarlett. The big hit is on the OL.

Defensively, the DL will take a hit, but the LBs and secondary should be very good next year.
