Tennessee is not a better basketball program than Arkansas. Neither is Georgia, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, LSU, Auburn, etc..., but they all have better coaches. Hell, A&M is a bad basketball program, but Texas A&M's coach has made two sweet sixteens in the past three years and their fans want him fired.

if arkansas was such a hot job, why did Heath and Pelphrey happen? if its a desirable job right now, its because Mike washed some of the stink off.

rick barnes is a good coach who hasnt sniffed the 2nd weekend in march in over a decade. same with howland, except im not sure if hes that good of a coach, and hes shown a knack for burning programs down, which id wager will happen to miss st shortly with all the payment allegations.

bruce pearl can build programs up but we all know how he does it.

ole miss made a good hire in kermit, i was jealous of that one. jury still out on will wade, seems he can recruit but hes done very little to suggest he'll be a sure thing.

the best outcome of being the last SEC school to get a practice facility means we have one of the newest, so thats good. we obviously arent afraid to shell out top dollar for a coach, so that helps too. plus the ghost of banners past, which may or may not be helpful. tom crean knows all about trying to please a fanbase expecting a return to glory.
