D’Andre "Tiki" Hardeman

Dude was a TD machine in 1996, our first year in the Big 12, with 17 on the ground and 18 overall. One of those TDs was a 95 yard score vs Baylor that still stands as the second longest TD run in A&M history. (longest belongs to Christian Micheal who scored on a 97 yard run also vs Baylor) Though he never reached those numbers again he did finish with 33 total TDs in his 4 years as an Aggie.

Perhaps his most memorable highlight came in 1997. #25 A&M was going up against #18 Oklahoma State. The Aggies were celebrating the 30 year anniversary of the 1967 SWC title. With Gene Stallings and surviving members of the team on hand the Ags were Down 22-7 in the 4th quarter but mounted a furious comeback to force their first overtime game ever. After holding Okie Light to a FG on their first possession Tiki got the ball on the 6 and powered through a defender to win the game 28-25. LINK

Sadly, his career ended in 1998 when he was declared academically ineligible two games into the season due to a clerical error. The story has a happy ending though as he eventually came back to finish his degree after encouragement from both his wife and Dante Hall (who went back to school with him). LINK

Thats a good one.

I was going to add Courtney Lewis. His 1000 yard season was the lone football bright spot when I was a student (along with some Texas fluke wins).
