We've had what, two competitive games out of 10 now? It's pretty bad. I don't know what the answer is. I feel like another round of games is going to result in even shittier first round matchups, but could lead to more competitive semifinal games.

A 6 team championship would provide better first round games. You’re still going to have 2 to 3 teams that are clearly better than everyone else.

I think a repeat of last year’s semis would have resulted in more competitive games. But I still think OU was a distant fourth. Fromm would have put up a lot of points I think.

CFB is and has been top heavy. Right now Alabama is King, but depending on the coach and decade it could be any number of teams. FSU, Miami, USC, etc have had runs although not nearly as long or consistent as Alabama.

Increasing games isn't going to make better playoffs or championship games. The only "fix" I see is to lower the amount of scholarships teams have to reduce stockpiling. Maybe 70 players and signing classes if 20/year.
