Gatewood scored. It was not even close.

I agree he scored and I also agree Gus did the right thing by not scoring afterwards.

I dont know why everyone is so upset that we didnt score 70 and break that record. 99% of the people watching that game yesterday did not know who held the record.

Its not important

Maybe I'm confusing you with someone else, but haven't you bitched in the past about Gus and his lack of killer instinct?

I agree... and I was in the middle of a bunch of Purdue fans. They were getting pissed when we went for it on 4th on that last drive. Would've been "spicy" if we scored again.

I don’t care about the knee and Gatewood will probably get more chances to score a TD, but taking that one away from Tolbert was BS for a guy that’s never scored or will get another chance to score. Gus should’ve let him punch it in, but I don’t really blame him for taking a knee. Scoring would’ve looked bad on him, but would’ve been a frick you to those refs.

Conversely, some might think allowing 3rd stringers and walk-ons to have the tiny shred of fun and glory scoring would have given them “the right thing to do”. Especially since (1) the Purdue players spent a lot of the game whining and bitching and occasionally punching and cheap shotting and (2) as the announcers observed, Purdue kept most of their starters in until the clock was 0:00. If their starters can’t stop our walk-ons, too bad so sad.
