this is in regards to the "misused" bit that has cropped up the past several weeks.

People have been saying this for a while now. It is sort of a sucky situation for Fields. He's in no-man's land. There's no way he's going to beat out Fromm at this point. People said he should not have been redshirted since he was such a great talent. But if he's that good, then he would have been starting or at least making more meaningful contributions. Maybe the coaches thought he would've progressed faster. Who knows. Hindsight is 20/20. Either way, it's hard not to feel bad for him.

Same tired old discussions we went thru with Greene vs Shock from '02-'04...

Misused #3 in games, #3 is better athletically than #14, #14 is a natural, Shock is gonna bolt, etc... etc.

No win situation in the media and on mssg.boards for the staff and the kids...

Shock kept his head down, worked his tail off, kept improving, ignored the fans and critics and in '05 won us only our 2nd SECC in 23 years...

Definition of “Misused”:

-noun - a rationalization for fanboys who have Fields posters on their bedroom walls.

Used to deflect criticism of their superhero by placing the blame on coaching staff instead of on Superman.

Also helps distract from admitting that Jake Fromm QB competitions are where 5 star premadonna hype QBs go to have their dreams shattered, chewed up, and spat out in the dirt.
