There’s a great story in The NY Times about Tyler Hilinski, who graduated from a California high school early and will enroll at SC next month. If you don’t know his family history, grab a Kleenex before you start reading.

But the story isn’t all sad. It is also filled with indisputable facts, such as:

- Carolina is a “middling” program
- Bojangles is delicious
- Southerners like pie

All in all, a fantastic read.

Oh so he is the brother of that Wash St QB?

Tragic.

I saw a little documentary about the brother, and it was odd because they were kind of blaming/implying that his issues were due to CTE, but they were all excited and celebrating their other son's football accomplishments and future.

Yeah, Gameday did a pretty solid story about his brother earlier in the year when they were at Wazzu. I remember one part in particular when they said something along the lines that they were glad that our incoming QB didn't choose a PAC-12 school because they'd have a hard having memories of watching their son play.

Tragic stuff.

eta: See that's in the article now.

Regardless of how he preforms on the field, that young man has a 5* heart...

I prefer Bernie's across from Willy B.

Was going to say something about pie on your face but realized how many ways that could be interpreted.

It says a "middling SEC program," which is accurate. You conveniently left out that part.

Ryan Hilinski is coming to South Carolina. Tyler was his brother who played at Washington State who is no longer with us.
