What is the concensus among Auburn fans? Will 2019 be his last season?

Is there a replacement that Auburn would obviously be interested in? I have a list off the top of my head that I would look into if I were Auburn.

Would accept if Auburn offered -

1) Neal Brown - young, in-state, and could be a lifer if he works out
2) Bill Clark - see Neal Brown
3) Mike Norvell - Has had some success at Memphis
4) Kliff Kingsbury - Auburn's recruiting area and coordinator salary money would have his defense at SEC-level in no time.

Long Shots -

1) Urban Meyer - Doubt he will ever be back in coaching because of his legitimate brain cyst (Saban in the same state would probably scare him off anyway)
2) Bob Stoops - obvious reasons

Let’s not put the cart before the horse?

I think Gus is a excellent coach and should stay in Auburn as long as possible!

Auburn is going to go 8-4 next year, and Gus's job will be safe.

Yes, barring a miracle he will be gone. Likely replacements: we would love to have Bob Stoops, but I would be happy with Aranda (assuming he isn’t hired before next season), Bill Clark would be a strong possibility. Maybe Norvell or possibly even Venables? Hell no to Kingsbury - if he wasn’t success at Texas Tech, he won’t be successful in the SEC.

When do we get get a big fat check from Arkansas from taking him off his hands for you? Maybe you guys can chip in with his buyout.

I'm still intrigued by Kiffin for some reason.

I mean, if Gus lucks in to Tate, he might win a title. You can't count the man out.

If Auburn hires a guy who has zero experience as a head coach at that level, I'll be happy too.

Auburn hiring Kiffin would be the only thing better than them keeping Malzahn.

The next two coaches will be fired in the next 10 years. Some programs have 10–15 coaches that have coached at the university since it was founded. Auburn just doesn’t realize who they are. They are not Bama. They are like Oklahoma State or UCLA. While they can have outstanding seasons, they are the little brother of a powerhouse. They want to be them so bad they will fire everyone to make it happen.

I would guess Gus is safe at 7-5, but this is a good call. Unfortunately Gus holds a lot of cards thanks to that contract Arkansas helped him get.

Anyone except Chad Morris. That is why I was glad they signed Gus for $49M.

Which coach is going to take one for the conference to save Gus next year?
In '17, it was Saban purposely tanking the Iron Bowl to give Gus the hideous 7 / 49M contract.
In '18, Jimbo had to blow the 4th quarter lead to save Gus, and even that was almost not enough.
So for '19, every team can't just run over Auburn, someone has to give Gus a timely win.
Maybe Mullen at Florida? It's mid season, he may need the boost

This seems like exactly the type of season where we win an SEC title
