The guy who retired because he didn't want to die on the sidelines, like his father, is gonna come coach the Barn and go against Saban, Jimbo, and Kirby every year!

Well he should have beat Auburn this year, just like Gus should have beat LSU the last two years after being ahead double digits.

Auburn should get Cutcliffe. Awesome coach, awesome schemer, all-around good guy. The only real negative is there's no evidence he can recruit at the elite level Auburn would expect out of their coach, but good assistants can cover for that.

LSU would kill to have Jimbo's record since 2011

Cutcliffe has made it clear in the past he has no interest in returning to his home state for either one of us. Things could have changed in the last 10 years though. I think he just has too much Tennessee in him.

Yeah, I did mean to add that he seems to love being at Duke, so that might be a problem. I wasn't aware he'd categorically ruled out the state of Alabama as a whole, though. That might have posed a problem if Auburn weren't in Georgia.

We need a new coach, we should try for the best, but doubt he comes out of retirement.

Yea , he wouldn’t come back to Florida where he actually had ties to and could have dominated a division and only had to play BAMA in championship (mostly) , but is totally interested in being a second fiddle to coach Saban in state ..

Come on .

I don't, retirement is boring. I doubt he would go to Auburn after coaching a blueblood.
