not disagreeing there, blanton is a better second option than anyone we have at WR. both in a perfect world both are playing. Have hall and Albert played 3 games together yet?

Many don’t think Albert has learned to block well enough to be drafted high. 3rd round right now at best. If he has a chance to play with Bryant, he will learn to be a better blocker since Bryant runs way more than Lock. He could be first or second round in 2020.

He got hurt because of poor technique and being soft.

Albert will kill it at the combine whenever he does go pro.

He’s also really raw both in terms of blocking and in his route running. He like Lock has dominated weak competition, but has struggled to consistently get open against the good teams.

Also somehow Iowa has 2 TE ranked among the top 5 in this draft

There are a lot of analysts saying he has a chance to be taken in the first round, I’d be very surprised if he comes back.

When Albert hurt his shoulder, immediately after the game Odom said it was just a bruised shoulder and he would play the next week.

Now it is 3 missed games. Something is up. Sitting out for the draft would be one possible explanation. IMO, it makes sense to cover this as still being injured because coming out and just saying you are scared of getting hurt and want to focus on the NFL can raise some red flags for the NFL folks.

In the mean time, I'll enjoy watching more Parker. The guy is a beast and actually executes his blocks from the attached TE spot.

Odom never said that.

Would y'all be surprised by that?

I remember hearing his name seeming every other play in our game against y'all this year but I also hear people complain about his drops all the time.

Albert will get cut if he continues to lack intensity blocking his position and losing pad level. He had 30 lbs and running start on the guy that knocked him out of the game.

He's not going to the NFL early unless he wants to carry equipment for a team

It is encouraging for the Tigers that Odom said both are expected to be available for Saturday’s home game against Vanderbilt. At 5-4, the Tigers can clinch a bowl berth with a win over the struggling Commodores.

Hey navynuke, remember when you tried to tell me Albert was such a good blocker?

quote:

He along with Blanton do a great job of blocking their position in 11 and 12 personnel packages. His play is a primary reason MU had been successful the last two games running the ball. Split zone doesn't work without the TE sealing backside.

I don't think you were watching too closely back then but it appears you have been since then.

I dont think its that he drops the ball a lot, its just the timing of those drops. Hes had problem with fumbling, but on the flip side, hes so young still and his ceiling is very very high

They ran for 1100 yds last November on running plays off his inside hip. If you want to argue that he did a poor job of blocking his position last year, be my guest.

Yeah, but that’s not what he said. He said he thought Badie would play. His only comment on O was that he’d be “very limited” in that week of practice.

He did. He didn't just regress. The running has been good despite this and you have admitted it. If it has been good despite him recently, safe to say it could have been good previously despite him.
