We currently have a former NBA COY who coached in the fricking NBA Finals. That is better than anything on Pearl's resume.

We also chased after Gregg Marshall hard before hiring Avery.

and imo we got as far as we realistically should have last year. Everyone on this board would have taken 2nd round of the tourney at the start of the year.

Yet he gets zero credit.

If we suck this year, well then that's another story.

Yeah, he's not included in "previous hires" Avery is a good splash and while I wish he had more recruiting experience before coming to Bama, he's certainly exceeded expectations.

Gregg Marshall would have been a great hire regardless, I'm content with how things turned out though.

Unfortunately, investing in AAU coaches is probably what you need to do. There's a reason Will Wade and LSU are fgoing to go from the bottom to near the top in a couple of years.
