Why are people so fascinated with the number? That amount is nothing to some people. If he continues to slide, he will be canned after the season

It’s not nothing. It would be more than twice as large as the biggest buyout ever up to this point (around $12 million).
It isn’t going to happen.
It isn’t going to happen.

Do you bite the bullet and pay him or do you sink into mediocrity? This is the delemma facing auburn. Still can’t believe they gave him the pay raise when he was so close to being fired a few years ago

Everything is negotiable. Regardless, Gus is gone after the season and so is the President that gave him that extension and buyout.

They already negotiated. Gus is in the driver's seat on this contract and doesn't have to do anything.

This is what I don’t understand. The only reason Gus has a job is because that dufus was one neuron brighter than les Miles in the “hot seat bowl” 2 years ago.
Fire his arse now! Put in an interim, and beat everyone else in the coaching search for a new leader that can help Auburn be a force in the West.
Or, keep Gus, and our Crazy Cajun will continue to arse rape Auburn every year and Bama (Tenn, cough, and Miss State, cough cough) will get sloppy seconds.
You realize Ole Miss is going to beat you next week to make it three loses in a row?

Then you add millions for the new staff that would put it over 40 mil.....Is Auburn that dumb?

IMO our fans are naive to believe 32 million is just laying around to pay Gus.

The only place GusBus is going is the Waffle House.

Why would Gus negotiate a buyout he literally signed less than a year ago?

Dear Herman,
Gus only takes Kristy to Waffle House if they win.
She probably secretly hopes they lose so they can go to a decent restaurant instead.
Sincerely,
Your Buddy Harry Rex

You just break it up into smaller payments like sponsoring a poor starving child. For just 50 cents a day you can make a difference in a visors life.

I'd coach Auburn for just the last six digits of that buyout.

I've been saying we dont fire him, but if we have to, the money is there to do it. The football program turned a profit of $61 million last years. That is straight profit, revenues were more than double that.
Truth is AU had the 2nd most profitable program in the SEC last year behind AtM. Even more profitable than bama. If AU does decide to fire him, they will find the money including the $16M that has to be paid upfront and basically immediately.
