Arkansas Fans, need help planning a trip to Fayetteville

Considering making the trip up to Fayetteville this year. I've heard it's awesome up there.
Right now it's just me and 2 other guys. Looking at flights, going straight into Fayetteville isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It's also way cheaper to go on Thursday morning. My question is, if we decide to do this, are there enough activities within the Fayetteville area that 3 guys would enjoy over the course of 3 days? Or should I fly into Tulsa and spend time there?
Obviously the game would be Saturday, but Thursday and Friday what should we do? Are there good places to hike in the area? Golf? Etc? Trying to think of things to do other than eat and drink during the day.

Experience Fayetteville
Here's a link that has everything to do in Fayetteville. It's better than Tulsa if you're looking to hike and do outdoors activities. Tulsa is much more of a city vibe.

The obvious answer, that no one else will volunteer, is to go visit Bottom's Up, Fayetteville's premier sleazy strip club.
Go and enjoy middle aged strippers checking the stage to make sure that cockroaches haven't come back. Again. Come for sleaze, leave for the tetanus shots.
Leaving that aside. Dixon street is a great place to spend an evening. There is hiking galore.
Honestly you could spend a week just hiking around Fayetteville itself with all the nature trails in the city.

Ah, Roger's Rec was a notorious dive on Dickson street (the joys of being on my computer so my phone doesn't try to autocorrect me) that was a wretched hive of scum and villainy.
I would know. My, now ex, girlfriend was a bartender there after she decided to retire from stripping. I've lead a colorful life but avoided horrid STDs, what can I say?
Check out Devil's Den. Its a great park. If you have an aquatic interest in life I do believe that Buffalo river is in prime floating condition right now and its gorgeous. Particularly during the week when it won't have many people there.
I would suggest Mt. Kessler which is a gorgeous hiking trail and you can get there right from town. Hell, you can park in town and get there.
Google it up. A few weeks and the leaves will begin changing color which will make it an amazing walk but right now its green and fairly cool.

If you’re going for a football game I would push it back a year or two unless you want free tickets and a weak experience.

Just going for the hell of it. My middle son, who is a student at Bama, called and asked if I wanted to go on a last minute road trip to the game.
I've been to Fayetteville, but never to a football game. No clue where to park, etc.
Looks like the Embassy Suites in Bentonville still has rooms. What's traffic like between Bentonville and Fayetteville like on gameday?

The last time I made that drive (though it was Fayetteville to Bentonville not the other way) it wasn't too bad, I want to say about 30 minutes or so. I'd suggest time budget 45 minutes.
While finding a spot can take some time I'd suggest parking on or near Dickson street and taking the free shuttle to the stadium from the Walton Arts Center.

If you have a full extra day, go hike the Goat Trail on the Buffalo National River. It's 1:15 east of town, and probably the most stunning natural area for 400 miles in any direction.
There are great hiking spots within the city, at Mt Kessler, and even Mt Sequoyah woods. Devil's Den State Park is 20 minutes south of town, I recommend the Yellow Rock Trailhead right by the highway as a good jumping off point.
If you have any interest in mountain biking, we have great spots for that, too. Bentonville has better mountain biking. Fayetteville has a more-developed "city bike trail" system if you are looking for just an easy ride experience and to explore local parks, etc.
There's Crystal Bridges Museum, good restaurants and mountain biking literally "in town" in Bentonville. It might be worth a day to just spend in Bentonville doing their stuff, if you aren't just interested in hiking. You can rent mountain bikes, etc.
Downtown Fayetteville is fun to walk around and drink in. We have professional live theater year round (Theatre Squared), a nice performing arts center (Walton Arts Center), and lots of good food and local craft beer (and cider) out the arse.
