Come on, give me one of those "you must be a fricking idiot if you think we're gonna lose to Tulane" type responses. I want to take the credit next fall.
Sorry, I don't use that kind of language on here. With that being said.........NOONE would have ever guessed that we would have lost to ULM last year but LSU was ecstatic about it. BUT, on the other hand, you LSU fans would have been told they would have lost 2 games last year, how many of you would have said it would have been the UK and Arky game ? Guess we never know.
BTW, this thread was about Bama's schedule and results, and you say we beat OM and Arky........so tell us is the only other game we win or now 2 as you have changed your mind ???

A one game difference is the divide between normal and extremely lucky? So, if Alabama were to go 6-6, we'd be extremely unlucky?
Point is with the schedule bama has, and the returning talent, that'll be an accomplishment to win 8 games. Bama went 6-6 last year, so it would be a 2 game improvement, that would be pretty good I guess. If they go 6-6 again, then gumps, it would be time to worry, if you're not already.

would you guys as LSU fans worry if LSU would have 3-4 losses this year ?
Just asking...........I see an improved season this year, but like I said earlier, many things come into play and CONFIDENCE is a HUGE portion of that and when we lost the LSU game like we did last year, it was the beginning of the end !!!

Sorry, not being an arse, but I didn't really understand any of that.
I think you asked for who else I think ya'll will beat, and I already said OM and Ark. from the SEC and 2/4 OOC games. Definitely not Clemson. So I think ya'll will drop 1 of the other 3, and my money is on Tulane. So I now think 4-8.
I understand Saban is a great recruiter, but I think he is entirely too conservative as a gameday coach, and his teams have come out looking very flat on several occasions last year. The talent he recruited this past year will not yet be able to make up for his deficiency as a gameday coach. I don't see ya'll beating another SEC team besides OM or Ark. (maybe UK, but I think that is a stretch, so I will stick with 4-8).

OK, you stick with that. WOW, a team gets WORSE and not BETTER in the second year under a head coach. Yeah, we came out VERY flat in many games, and came out on fire in many games last year. If you REALLY believe that Bama will be WORSE next year than this year, please bring over whatever you are drinking on so you can share with me. I'm cooking steaks tonight, so we can use some extra alcohol.
So from what you are saying is that we are gonna loose to Clemson, Tulane, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, LSU, Miss State, and Auburn ??? Our only wins are against Western Kentucky, Arkansas, Ole Miss and Arkansas State ???

Natural, my email address is athensbamafan@gmail.com
If you are serious about that prediction, I am willing to bet a hefty sum. If you aren't strong in your conviction, tell me so that I can remove my email.

Ha, if I wasn't a poor student I might be more inclined to take your bet. Either way, it's just a prediction. I don't think there's a GREAT chance in it happening, but I think it's a better prediction than any other possible record.

I think we will be a better football team overall but the problem is that there will be a lot of teams in the SEC that are better than we are. I think we will be lucky to win 8 games but 7-6 is more likely.
We will probably lose
Arkansas
LSU
Georgia
Tennessee
Auburn
But we may pull one off like last year against Tenn and win one of these games. But a better overall football team. We are still two years away from being up to par with the rest of the SEC assuming things continue in the direction they are headed right now.

I honestly think OM and Ark are the only West teams Bama will beat, and I don't see ya'll beating any East teams. And I stick to my prediction of 2/4 OOC games. No way ya'll beat Clemson, and ya'll will overlook Tulane.
awesome
Bama will be better, as will Ole Miss...i think the coach of the year in the sec will be either nutt or saban based on performances this year.
I think bama wins 7 or 8 games...i dont think they will beat clemson though.

Scoop, are you retarded? Arkansas loses two first round running backs and half of their OL.
I would believe we lose to Tulane before Arkansas next year.

I honestly don't know what to expect from Alabama next year. I don't think they'll contend, but some of their wins were accomplished on fumes and some of their losses were awfully close. 8 wins is about right I think.

Bob Toledo is not a bad coach at all, especially on offense, I watched him on and off for years at UCLA...Tulane actually gave LSU hell for about two quarters last year. I don't think Tulane should ever really be expected to beat an SEC foe, but they might ascend to Fresno State status and surprise people once in a while. I think the hire was sound.

Tulane will suck dog nuts as usual.

Only games I will say for certain Bama will lose are LSU, Georgia, Clemson, and a toss up for Tenn/AU. So I am thinking 4 losses next year for Bama. Would this be a disappointment? Of course they may win won of these games and lose to a team like a ULM that we dont expect also.

objectively I say 7-5 or 8-4.

moo state laughs at you for saying they are a easy game for bama.
Posted on 4/22/08 at 7:45 am to FLBamafan
if you listen at all to finescum (which is hard to do at times) bama will once again be the dominant team in AL. and the SEC. course that opinion could change next week depending on the ratings

I actually think JPW is a pretty good QB.
He is tough as shite. I have seen him take some nasty hits and pop right back up to throw for a 1st down.

Hey, I haven't been on in a while (two huge projects running simultaneously) but I'm glad to see the addition of the "SEC Rant"...great move, hopefully appeasing some of the more vocal "take it to your own board" critics...
As for next year, If we get some WRs to mature quickly, and JPW develops some semblance of touch ((yeah, right)), we can slip up on a few teams. With a few key personnel losses, UT and Arky are certainly beatable next year. Georgia could be a juggernaught, and the LSU game will be must-see-TV. Of course, it all hinges on the Auburn game....((out damn streak))
Eight wins is reasonable. Nine would make me happy. But beating Auburn will make about any record more attractive.

Depends. If we went 10-2 in the regular season with losses to uf and uga but won the SECCG rematch I would be very happy with our season. Of coarse that would put us at 11-2 and our third loss would have to come in the Sugar Bowl.
4 losses would be dissappointing but if one came in the SECCG and one came in the bowl game, that would still be a 10 win season.
Now if you're saying regular season only. Then, hell yes, 8-4 would be a huge let down.
