Clemson Fan Checking In On Chad...

I know you guys are on the ropes, but this team never recovered from Petrino's departure and Chad Morris inherited and empty shelf of groceries in arguably the toughest division of the toughest conference in college football.
He knows what to do with talent once he gets some. When he came to Clemson as an Offensive coordinator and had All American Tajh Boyd, NFL players Sammy Watkins, DeAndre Hopkins and Duane Allen to name a few, in his first year we won our first ACC tile in 20 years and have been on a holy tear for the last decade due largely in part to what Chad did. He has a much harder task at this program and will take longer.
In case you haven't noticed, first year coaches around the nation are getting their asses handed to them early...The worst example is in Tallahassee where FSU has much more talent than Arkansas and their coach can barely beat Samford.
It's going to take 2-3 years to get this program remotely close to being competitive and schools in this division like LSU, Texas A&M and Bama have a head start.
IF given the time, Chad Morris can build this program...

While a lot of us are upset (I'd be more upset but there is a good chance the Bert years destroyed my soul) I think most of us now know this is not going to be a quick fix. Whether Morris is the guy to get us there is open to debate... but I think most of us agree that we are going to have to turn over the roster before things get better.
Going to be a long year unless a football miracle happens.

He'll be given AT LEAST three years to show improvement. He has to be given time to get the players in that will run his system. There is also a loser mentality/culture that permeates the locker room. He'll need to get Bert's engrainment the frick out of here.

If you are right about the 2-3 years then he is going to get that.

What's the story on your Football facilities? College football is in a nuclear arms race to build these incredible palaces for athletes to live for 2-3 years and any school not committed to this concept is screwing itself...It's expensive as hell, but it has to be done to compete...

From top to bottom, weight and conditioning, the Jones Academic Center, Locker rooms, medical, and nutrition facilities are top notch. We just finished expanding the stadium with more suites and higher level seating amenities.
We have put in the $$$ on facilities for sure. Indoor practice facility is getting a bit dated, I believe.. but we had one prior to several others in the SEC.

They're top notch and will compete with any school out there.

They are never going to be an issue and if we can start winning, money being thrown at the football program won't be an issue either.

Our biggest issue is we don't pay shite for our recruits. If we would throw around some real money we could win a few games a lot sooner.

Before Dabo and Chad came to Clemson, we forgot to win as a program. We had talent, but could not close the deal on games we were supposed to win...trust me nothing is more painful than having to go through what seemed as an eternity of having the term "Clemsoning" shoved down your throats every time we turned around.
You literally have to learn to be a winner, expect to win everytime you go out there and most importantly...how to suck it up and overcome adversity when on the ropes...Any team can jump ahead of team by 30 40 points and hang on..any team can get blown of the field, but when a team is down by less than a touchdown in a 2 minute drill, can you make it happen?
That's what this team has to do and it make take flushing out JR's and Seniors that don't have that mentality and bring in Graduate Transfers and JUCO's to supplement recruiting shortages...

Here's how I feel about Chad right now. It's like you had a really shitty ex and are ready to move on so you go out with someone new. On your first date you really don't feel any chemistry but he (she) seems nice enough so you decide to go out on date 2 and when on date 2 you catch him (her) in a big lie (chokes away a 27-9 lead to shitty team CSU) but you (for some reason) decided to try a 3rd date with him (her). He (she) then proceeds to get shitfaced sloppy drunk and passes out on your couch and at some point during the night pees all over it (loses to NORTH EFFING TEXAS 44-17). You really don't want to go out with this loser anymore but for some reason (I'm at work, I can't work on the scenario anymore right now) you're contractually obligated to do so for 3 years. Yip-freaking-eee.

The thing that sucks is Chad could have a top 20 recruiting class his whole time here and that probably wouldn't even be in the top 4 of his division.
I don't think anyone expects him to win the SEC or anything but him getting us out of losing or almost losing to G5 teams every year would be a start.

North Texas is 3-0 and kicking everyone's arse so far. I am not trying to sugar coat such a bad loss, but this team could go undefeated based on what I am seeing.

And 2 of those wins against Chad's old team and Chad's new team. The outlier is the super powerful Incarnate Word.

Is Chad willing to get dirty? That is the only way you can compete in the West.
We are going against teams like Bama where cheating is not only accepted but expected. Not to mention, coaches like Gus who is one of the dirtiest in the game.

IMO no....He has never done anything to suggest that he is willing to do that...if he did then he was so good at it that he has been able to get away with it...but he is from Texas...LOL
Of course, I don't think you guys should be in the SEC..Your roots are more in line with Big 12 schools..but that's a different discussion...

Neither do I. We will never leave though. Too much money; winning be damned.

Uh, it's still N. Texas.. plus we lost to CSU too. There are a number of high school teams that will beat us right now.

No self respecting Arkansas fan should ever support the notion of crawling back to the B12.
