Problem is it seems to be ripping our fanbase apart from the inside out for some reason this time 'round.
Meh I don't see it. Or is it just because of the internet?
I'd also like to know where we stand in the SEC in terms of allocations of funds.
I feel like we put a lot more across the board than say Bama, Auburn or Georgia.
They put majority into football, we do other things.

They act like they're the most loyal fans around, then complain and trash the team and the coaches the first time things go wrong
Carolina fans (the sane & the lunatic fringe) are having to deal with 'what comes after' ...the success of Spurrier's 4 year run on a national stage. behaviors/patience will never be what it was before those seasons.
the knee-jerk fringe wants USC back to winning 11+ games in short order. the rest of the fan base is willing to give Muschamp some time. everyone saw the UGa game this year as the first best chance since SOS left put the program back into the national dialogue.
Unfortunately, UGa is performing at a level they've never been in their entire history. win or lose, that game was never gonna be a long-term barometer for how much Muschamp has accomplished in restoring Gamecock football to what is was as recently as 2013.
as for Rooster's concern in his OP about negativity - the SC "media" (term used loosely) - knows exactly where to look to find their needed Gamecock "fan of choice" to continue a fabricated narrative of ~ gloom, despair & agony ~ it was tasked with hanging around Carolina's neck like a noose decades ago.
hell, today's "journalists" actively cultivate it. social media has only made their job easier, all the while allowing for more exposure to their plight.

How does that quote go?
It's like a horrible car wreck, you want to look away but you can't.

True, from Herman Helms to Joe Person with several in between and to include Ron Morris, and to include Mick Mixon and to some degree Phil Kornblut, although their medium is totally irrelevant anymore these days, there was an overt attempt to do that imho.
These days it's more about social media no doubt.
I think Josh and the guys over at The State have actually gotten a lot better about being good sports journalists. And the radio guys on 107.5 are pretty good too, at least the 4-7PM time slot with that guy, he's excellent.
It's social media ginning-up a lot of the crap. Plus, I am absolutely convinced, it's a few taterheads masquerading as Gamecock fans. They've been doing it forever and they're never going to stop. They did it with letters and postcards back in the day ... emails and BBS posts and twitter just made it easier for them.

the social media platforms that reach recruits/their families is the infuriating war we now wage we these plants.
the link to the XT "story" on this forum is a perfect example of the back-handed, intentional low-balling shots that have always been cast towards Carolina - all the while championing the orangeneck program at Circus U.
for comparison, the Josh Belk story has waaaaay more to it than Dildo 'releasing' him to another program, let alone USC. but the Snake wrote a fluff piece about how fortunate USC must be to get a player like him especially with a blessing from Dildo. nauseating and quite the load of bullshite from what actually took place.

Harris Pastides is a wonderful president. I hope he is here for a long long time.

He's already been here too long imho, but I do really like Patricia. She's a class act.
ETA: Little known fact. Harris Pastidies is almost single-handedly responsible for driving the semi-conductor industry out of this country and costing over 300,000 Americans their jobs and the U.S. of A. billions, if not trillions, in revenue both for our citizens, taxes, etc. And he's proud lf that. And let me be clear, I like Harris okay, but I don't like his ... let's say, agenda. He's a taker, not a giver. He's 100% completely ALL about the money and once he's got your money you can frick off as far as he is concerned. Give'em a million bucks when you die ... and he will not even attend your funeral. You're dead, he moves on to suckering-in the next family.

I was actually told the real reasons, and there were more than one, what took place with dabo and the belk situation. Lets just say dabo is a arse until attorneys issues threats.

Dabo is a Saban guy.
I don’t care if he sells out his own mother. All that maters is winning a title

Yes it is. Sometimes, and this has really been the case for years, I kinda wish I could put my hands over my ears and not hear some things, or see some things, or experience some things at times.
It really goes back to the Brad Scott years but it was happening under Skip ... and to a waaaaaaay lesser extent under SPURrier.
mUSChamp runs a tight ship but the bullshite under Tanner and Pastides ... they are going to piss off the wrong boosters one od these days. Ray has a lot of credits in his basket winning the two National Championships. Harris has done a decent job but ten years is long enough. It's time for us to take the next step up.
Harris Pastidies, for one thing, is far left, far far left, socialist progressive ... and that means he thinks your money is his money. He can't help himself. But his hubris is getting old.

That’s his job and if he doesn’t get every dime that he can the trustees will find someone who will get them their money. I do agree with you about Patricia, she is a great lady and we are lucky to have her representing USC.
What I don’t like about Pastidies is what he does when he’s off the clock. There is no excuse for him frequent certain colorful establishments. If what I’ve heard is true he needs to go for that reason alone.
