Why are the most pessimistic fans always the loudest ones talking bullshite?

I heard some things today about some fans writing The State and sending emails to 107.5 about how we'll never compete for the big prize ...

Why do you suppose some of our fans are so defeatist?

Or do you think, as do I, that a lot of it are taterheads masquerading as Gamecock fans? Because I was told there was such an outpouring of bullshite letters and emails that it had to be coordinated ... it had to be taterhead fans.

Couldn't be us, could it be?

Sadly, no. We have a lot of great supportive fans, but we have a lot of shitty fans too. We've all sat around some of these asshats in the stadium. They act like they're the most loyal fans around, then complain and trash the team and the coaches the first time things go wrong.

I know this. Coach mUSChamp's office, directed at Coach mUSChamp, is receiving some damn iffy, strange, letters that remind me a lot of the post card campaign (some) Clemson fans had coordinated in the 70s.

I know this, some of the emails being sent to writers and at least one show host on 107.5 The Game are suspicious as hell in their wording.

I dunno ... mu sheep humpers sister bangers radar is going off.

I heard some stuff today that is absoly out of bounds. And some of it is no secret. Plenty of people know about it but everyone I know are appalled by it. Makes no sense whatsoever.

That UGA loss really has broken the fanbase.

You'd think we were in November and 3 games under .500.

Reading stuff like this makes me so glad that, besides a few message boards (like this), I am totally clueless with regards to social media.

I call bull shite on this. It's just more information is out there and in this day and age of technology we actually acquired more fans.

It happens with all fans. (I mean check out the Browns and Lions fans) You couldn't find these during our 11 win years with Spurrier. It's just a cycle.
Ignore it.

People are overreacting to a bad loss to one of the very best teams in the country. Everyone was all about "sneaking in and beating UGA before they started to gel as a team", when my concern was more about us playing together as a team.

As we go on, I think we just get better and better. Everyone just needs to chill the frick out. We arent a top 3 team, but we also arent a bottom dweller. I think we are still going to shock some people.

We needed that marshall game just to remind our fans that everything is ok. We are heading in the right direction, and will be able to legit compete against the top teams in 2020ish and on the way our recruiting is going.

Everyone has bad fans. I'm sure Muschamp has heard and dealt with ALOT worse down in Gainsville.

how bad do they actually piss you off?
I know you've had history with them.

But I'm just baffled by all of this really in this day and age.

I've grown up with them and am friends with buddies who went to school there and they don't act like this at all.
Yea we talk shite back and forth but I talk shite back and forth with the guy that sits next to me about fantasy football, and him being late to work, or what he eats for lunch.

Maybe I've lost it. But sometimes I just think. "what's the point?"

I'll be honest, as an alum who never missed a game in person from 03-08, and then set my habits to make sure I was available on Saturdays and Thursdays, I no longer have the passion.

'14-'15 really broke me as a fan. The team is slowly getting better, but the gap between USC and Clemson/UGA is getting bigger at a faster rate. I don't get enough enjoyment out of football season anymore, and as such, I'm pretty willing to give it up as a significant hobby. If Carolina wins, I'll watch the recording, but if not, whatever. Either way, I'm no longer planning my Saturday around it. And I have very little desire to bring my kids into it. It's simply not that much fun anymore.

I'll have to admit that my patience and understanding with Pastides and Tanner is waining.

I know of people, who give big sums of money to support both the academic side of the school and sports side of the school ... who are also growing tired of the Corporate mentality/approach bullshite.

I've sat in Guardian Society luncheons and listened to Pastides chastise fans and supporters who disagree with him and even say some have asked for their money back because of his decisions or his attitude and he laughs at them ... makes jokes of them.

I have heard of people wanting to make large donations of money or property but asking for small concessions in the process and then being ignored.

I have witnessed some things over the course of the past ten years or so ... admittedly it really started under Hyman and he was in cahoots with Pastides, and it has continued under Tanner and even Charlie Bloom ... that are just not the way things are done within the Gamecock family. It's always about what you can do for them, not what the program can do for the fans paying all the bills.

Gossip flies, back stabbing, people within the organization pissed off ... etc.

Now, I like how far we have come and I love the potential to move forward and upward and I realize there is always a changing of the guard and things change in general ... but a lot of what is going-on is not a good look.

FootballOps building .... win win for players and coaches, and I think it's great, we needed that. But again, what about the fans? What about the every day average income fans and families and the potential to cultivate an entirely new generation of fans at a very early age who will one day be big supporters.

We're thinking of selling our share in our assets ... giving up tickets and just watching games at home on the 70" TV with the sound system blaring and with friends invited over.

Right now between the condo, the Cockaboose, the tickets, Gamecock Club membership, catering, transportation, donations, etc., etc., etx., ... we're dropping about $80k a year to support a program that could give a fat baby's arse about any of us.

Our football team is going to be very good under mUSChamp ... I firmly believe that. The program is in good hands. Patience and time and we'll be competitive with anyone.

Basketball we're in great shape with Martin and Staley but I know for a fact Tanner was pissed that Hyman hired Martin just before he left for A&M.

We need a new men's soccer coach ... I've known Mark personally for forty years and have always thought he was great for us ... but it's time to move on.

Almost time to get very serious about track and field as well. We're losing ground there.

Anyways, I'm ranting and don't mean to be but they do little bullshite things over there without focusing on what really needs to be done.

Well frankly USC has never really been committed to winning. The older you get as s Gamecock fan the more you realize we will never make the sacrifices needed to win a title. Just look at recruiting budgets vs our competition. Look at our coaching hires the last 60 years. Look at our AD choices. If you're a season ticket holder for any amount of time our tickets were the lowest in the conference. Always behind on the newest additions or upgrades. We don't even try to cheat. Let's get a bag man and roll the dice. It made Clemson a respectable program. Ironic the cheating and paying players made them respectable since the 80s. Off campus stadium in an industrial zone that looks like crap however they are doing their best to spruce it up. Middle of the road coaches salaries. We never go big. We will never win.

These SEC teams sadly take football much more serious than we do and that will never change. The other SEC schools have very very rich boosters that give a lot of money. We have a handful. Just look at TAMU. They have so many millionaires and billionaires that are alum from oil money it's nuttzz.

We belong in the ACC. We can't compete in football in this league. We will always be a 8-4 type team with an 11-2 season here n there

About to say...this place is becoming the absolute antithesis to every "sunshine pumping" Gamecock site to ever exist.

We need our own crisis help line for frick's sake.

Some of y'all need to chill the frick out. Get drunk. Get stoned. Get laid. Damn. Take a step back from the ledge, y'all. It's all gonna be okay.

I think Pastides has been a great President.

Your post might be the first time I've ever seen someone criticize him.

And honestly, as long as if the university thrives academically under his leadership, I don't give two shits about the health of athletics.

In theory,I agree with you. However, in reality, the two are so closely tied for a multitude of reasons that Pastides cannot ignore athletics. With the exception of a highly specialized school such as Georgia Tech (seriously, Tech has a very limited number of majors), the Athletic Department's publicity drives better and better students to your campus, which in turn creates more competition for faculty, increase in research dollars, and increase in academic contributions.

The waters are too murky to leave athletics as a completely separate realm. Pastides is tasked with improving the academic standing of the school,no doubt. But athletics is a major arrow in that quiver- if it's played correctly.

Indeed. You lost a tough game to what should be the second (or first) best team in college football. Its a tough break but it could be worse.

A quick recap of the SEC season so far.

Florida lost to Kentucky, and in doing so snapped a winning streak that predated the written word.

Auburn lost to LSU and is staring down the barrel of once again going 8-4 despite being loaded with talent.

Arkansas lost to the worst team in FBS and followed that up by getting motor boated at home by North Texas.

Ole Miss promptly declared "hold my beer" and lost by 55 points to Alabama in a game where Nick Saban actually smiled and looked happy for the first time in his entire life.

I'm just saying... it could be much, much worse. You aren't at Georgia's level this year. Well there are a 120 some odd college football teams in the FBS that aren't. You will be fine going forward.

Yea I'm the other way here. But that's just me. Couldn't give a shite about Academics at this point.

I'm also in the boat of I couldn't give a frick if we went 11-1 or 1-11.

I just enjoy us having a football team that brings us together.

There are TONS of schools out there that don't have this kind of love we do, it makes us a unique special group

Problem is it seems to be ripping our fanbase apart from the inside out for some reason this time 'round.
