Wondering if anyone has an interesting stories about sitting in the visiting section of their own stadium?

Obviously we always get great stories about being in visiting stadiums or from your own stadium but this may be a unique twist that doesn't get talked about much.

For some reason, South Carolina reserves some of the best seats in the entire stadium for the visitors.

I wouldn't fault a SC fan for sitting in the visitor's section.

Scalped tickets when UGA was in town a few years ago, best I could find were four in the visiting section. We lost 0-34. Was not a fun experience.

Sat 1 row behind Georgia fans in tiger stadium one time. LSU scored a touchdown and someone from up above threw a drink down on the fans below. They blamed me even though I had a full drink and was covered from the drink thrown. Thank god the trooper believed me and let me move to diff spot!!!

There are no bad seats at the Billy Brice ... but 1,000 are reserved for biggest visiting boosters down in East Lower that are pretty good. All other visitors sit in East or West Uppers in the corners ... unless they buy off of StubHub or TicketMaster.

I've never actually sat in any of those sections but I did visit some Florida fan friends of mine in one of those sections during the 95 UF game, late, and it was cold as hell and SPURrier was still throwing the ball on us for TDs up big already .... and some of our remaining fans started doing the FSU tomahawk chop thing.

SPURrier was such an arse back then. But man Gator fans loved him in those days.

I’ve sat in the visiting section in Bryant Denny and the home section in JHS and Tiger Stadium. Come to think of it, i’ve been to a dozen road games and never sat in the Alabama section. I’ve found the games to be more enjoyable, but I’d venture to say many of us here would enjoy the banter that goes along with that. shite, we are here after all

Yes a bunch of times

Best story is when we were playing Arkansas I sat over there and during a tv time out I stood up and explained in exquisite detail why their claim to the 1964 National Championship is not legitimate.

I bet they loved that. I'd love to go through a similar history lesson with Ole Miss.

Whoa there Scott---
They had me in the visitor's section Row A1. If you do not know, they added seats below Row 1. So Row 4A,3A,2A and 1A are below eye sight on the field. I was sitting, not standing, at fence level at William-Brice- worse seats I ever had at an away game.

Oddly enough I’ve never been anywhere else in Tiger Stadium other than the north end zone once. Family has had season tickets since the 50s and have never even explored other parts of the stadium. So no I’ve never had to sit in the visitors section. I do however wish Tiger Stadium was more open instead of partitioned off like it is

Heard stories about our nosebleeds but don’t think that’s an experience I’m interested in

It is possible but you have to know where you're going and when. If the band is moving then the north will be isolated from the rest of the stadium. I kind of like it. It feels ancient and old. It just wouldn't feel the same if it was all modernized and open. I like a lot of nostalgia with my sports though. I don't need a lot of convenience. Southeastern was the first time I'd ever been to the south endzone. Was like being in a completely new stadium.

If I remember correctly, they've never changed the configuration of the lower level seating on the visitor's side since the stadium originally opened. While the home side's lowest rows now sit above the benches, the visitor's side seats extend all the way down to the field so you can't actually see the field.

I think Rooster was at the ribbon-cutting in the 1934, so he may be able to clarify.

Back during the Ray Perkins era my wife and I were at a Vols game in Birmingham sitting in the north end zone. The place was full of Vols and they told the only person in sight with an Alabama hat how bad they were going to beat the tide. Well I just smiled and kept my moth shut.
When the third quarter started we looked around and they were gone. Needless to say Bama beat the shite out of the Vols that night.

I beg to differ. From the top part of the upper deck endzone away section you can't see the back half of the end zone you're sitting in.

Try again.
Sometimes our home sections feel like visitors sections. Sucks that everyone in the SEC wants to travel for Nashville for vacation weekend when they play us.
