What sayeth the board?

I’m concerned about secondary depth and our run d, although it was against a triple option team. Offensively I liked the mix of perimeter runs to create opportunities for our backs. I think we’ll find it how good the o line really is this week. If they give Bentley time I think we can score points.

I’m thinking a 28-24 type game that could go either way

Young and thin but starters can play good ball. We can’t afford injuries or targeting ejections. We will need a good pass rush to help them out

I think our running game is a step behind last year. If Fromm has time, we have the best set of receivers ever at Georgia. Defense is young in spots, and DL doesn’t have a lot of depth. Turnovers could dictate a lot.

For the first time since DT was quarterback, I think Carolina will score points. To me, the key is if Dowdle/Williams can run the ball at all. If they can get 4/5 yards per clip, that opens Bentley and the passing game. This is the best group of wideouts Carolina has had since Gurley/Alshon- and they may be even better than that.

UGA will attempt to punch them in the mouth. But USC has never played scared of them (when Jon Hoke wasn't coaching, at least).

Maybe I'm setting myself up for heartache, but I think USC has a puncher's chance in this one.

We've got a puncher's chance ... I agree.

Bentley needs to be ready to weather the storm. UGA is gonna bring the pressure until we burn them, if we burn them. Bentley can't be gunshy.

We've got the RBs, they'll bring it if the OLine can get some push up front and open even little holes.

We've got, perhaps, the best stable of WRs we've ever had IMHO. I can think back to every season since Tommy Suggs' '69 season and the ACC Championship and up until now ... this is the best overall group of WRs we've ever had. I'm not sure it's even close. All of them can bring it. Deebo, Edwards, Shi, OrTre, Rance, Josh ... and our TEs are still very good even sans Hurst.

DLine and LBs are pretty damn good I'm just not sure if we're deep enough there. UGA is going to want to pound the ball on us and wear our front down as the game progresses. I hope we're ready for that. I thought the young guys played very well Saturday but this is a whole'nuther ballgame. We may actually see Belk out there this Saturday just to provide breathers if nothing else. Get four or five plays out of him would probably be about all we could expect.

Secondary is the big question mark. Loved how they played Saturday but they got away with some things against Coastal that they will not get away with vs Fromm. Hurts to lose Henry for the 1st half Saturday but he'll at least be rested for the 2nd half. Horn and Mukuamu both looked really really good and so did the kid from Rice. Fenton gunna Fenton ... lol. Kid is a trip.

We may have the best punter in the league if not the country. And Parker is gonna drive KOs deep every time. But I wish we had attempted a couple of FGs Saturday just to get them ready. I'm sure we'll have to kick a few this Saturday and we're going to need every point in this game.

Let's hope Wonnum is back full speed Saturday. We need him in there for a few series at least.

This game is going to be one of those typical hard hitting SEC games won or lost in the trenches. Our OLine looked good Saturday. Got to get our snaps fine tuned. I'm sure they'll tweak that this week.

Big thing is to hold UGA to short gains when they want to run the ball. Limit their explosive runs, force some turnovers, stick'em and make'em pay ... we have got to be very very physical with them.

Biggest thing may be our crowd this weekend. The Cock Pit has got to be rockin' loud and angry. Get Deebo the ball as much as possible, let him tote the rock 12-16 times and let's see what he can do with it. And when UGA doubles him, make them pay by going to one of our other big play guys which we have plenty of at RB, WR and even TE.

Bentley is going to have to be very tough mentally in this game for us to win.

Our boys have never been scared of Jawja, even when the talent disparity was great. My Lord if we can come out, hit them in the mouth and get the lead, Williams-Brice will be a cauldron of noise.

The two main keys for me are our ability to run the ball, and our ability to stop the run. If we do both above average, then we have a chance to win. Two years ago, they just lined up and ran it at will against. I know we have improved, and they don't have Chubb/Michel, but I still think their stable of backs will be able to break off some solid gains.

We need to score first, get the crowd into it, and we will have a shot. I am also hoping for some sort of cloud cover. Last Saturday was brutal.

I think that we start this game strong. Go into halftime tied or with a lead, but then the heat/depth gets to us and we lose late.

I hope thats not the case but thats just my opinion if I were to bet.

We are gonna need some turnovers that bounce our way. If we do that we have a chance. Our starters on D looked really solid, so we will see. Theyll have to somehow cover Deebo, Shi, Ortre, and Edwards which is a daunting task for any team.

Cant wait for Saturday. Footballs back!!

I was impressed with Bentley's play in the first quarter compared to last season, when he overthrew his targets early and took a while to settle down. I know it was against Coastal, but the atmosphere was pretty raucous and he seemed to adapt to it pretty well now that he's a Junior. We'll need him to do the same this week to gain some momentum early.

Please Sweet Jesus, let UGA kick it directly to Deebo to start the game. Amen.

Only noticeable overthrow was the one to Deebo on the post. I still think Deebo could have dove and caught it, though.

Rodrigo Blankenship has been consistently kicking them through the endzone.

I think USC will be able to put up some points. Not worried that much about Baker’s side of the field, but Tyson Campbell is a freshman and y’all will likely test him early and often. He’s 6’2” and fast as hell, but still a true freshman. The key for y’all will be OL. If you can open lanes and keep our OLBs off Bentley then it will be a long game for UGA’s D.

On the other side, I expect UGA to move the ball well. This is the most speed I’ve ever seen one Athens on the offensive side of the ball. If USC stacks the box then UGA will attack the perimeter and should have success. Likewise, I expect UGA’s OL to get a good push if USC only keeps 6-7 guys in the box.

Going into the half I have a feeling it will be tied or damn close to it. I think UGA will be able to pull away late simply because of depth. If UGA covers the spread, it will be because of a late score to seal the game. I could see the final being something like 38-28, 41-34 around there. I expect to see a lot of offense in the game.

I see the same scoring outcome as well. I can say though, as for Bentley, he looked so collected against Coastal compared to any game I can remember him playing. The majority of his throws where on time and fairly accurate.

Muschamp getting rid of Roper has already proven its worth. And because of that I think maybe SC can keep the points closer, at least keeping UGA from covering.

As an outsider, I’ll say that Carolina matches up well with UGA. I think Georgia has a big advantage on the O-Line but conversely our D-Line doesn’t have established depth. If SCAR can put together long drives and a few three and outs, they absolutely have a chance.

I think this is a classic SEC game. The team who avoids turnovers and limits penalties, will position themselves to get the W. As obvious as that statement sounds, that will be deciding factor. I don’t think UGA covers

I would throw special teams in this as well. Not allowing a short field will be huge.
