In Alabama, that game IS history. Whether its for the title or not. That game gets talked about 365 like no other I've ever seen....Well, LSU talks about the Bama game 365 but I mean when both sides talk it.

Well the reason why the 2010 game is talked about so much is

1) It is the only time in modern history that Auburn won the National Title (previous time was 50+ years ago)

2) Alabama had won the National Title the year before

3) It was one of the strangest games played. The ball went about 20-30 yards barely paralleling the sideline and not going out of bounds, is one example. It was even stranger than the 1972 game

4) People think that Newton was not a legitimate player, and that will never end.

Auburn beating Bama has meant more to Bama in terms of title implications than Auburn. A couple of Iron Bowl losses have derailed Bama's title aspirations...thinking 2013 and 1989. Probably a couple of others.
