Meh. We beat bama and went undefeated and or were the national champs in 1983, 1993, 2004, and 2010.

That is pretty solid. We beat bama about every other year for anout the past 30 years and you do realize you are not awarded a national championship for beating them, correct?

You were not NCs or undefeated in 1983.

You were fortunate that you did not play in the post season in 1993. You would have likely lost in the SECC game and/or the bowl. You had a good team but like Bama's 89 team there were a lot of smoke and mirrors. The only two teams you played with a winning record you barely won at home. IMO, UF would have boat-raced you in the SECC game. Spurrier threw the reg season 3 pt loss at JH away by stupidity.

2004 you were fortunate that you didn't have to play that USC team. They would have almost certainly smoked you but now you at least can play the whatif and sympathy cards.

2010 you were good and deserved to win the NC but you were very fortunate. You had a transcendent player and made good use of him. You won 7 games by one possession, 5 by 3 points or less. Chizik did a great job of navigating all of the off-the-field "clutter".

That is skewed by the fact that Alabama got gutted by the ncaa from about 2000 to 2007.....
