I think I first heard this nickname several years ago. It's not only old now, but probably the dumbest nickname ever. Lol, I could have sworn there were 32 teams in the league, and not just one. What's so ironic is that Dallas hasn't done anything to earn such a nickname anyway. I mean the only team worthy of such a name would be a team that wins a lot like the Patriots. America's team? Wow, what does that make the rest of the league?

If you didn’t know OPs username you could probably mistake this as a Tillman post

I think Green Bay fits that title more. JJ has completely emasculated the Cowboys.

Im not a cowboys fan but they are called America's team due to having the largest fanbase of all the nfl teams.

North Dallas Forty pushed them over the top.

Not sure, but I do remember in the early to mid 80's they were on TV almost every Sunday for some reason. Did that cause a spike in their popularity, or were they so popular the networks put them on all the time?
I don't really know. The 49ers and Dolphins were on a lot that era as well, from what I remember.

They got stars on their helmets, just like on our flag. They gotta be true Americans, duh!
And screw the Pats, too.
Geaux Saints!
