Texas is 38th in healthcare yet we have some of the best hospitals in the world including the #1 for cancer treatment.

Also, Iowa is #1. WTF kind of sick list is this?

For the first time in a long time these states can rest easy at night. Thanks Louisiana!

And people laugh at me when I say that the Omaha-Council Bluffs area is a vastly underrated area to work and raise a family.

Texa is 48th for opportunity. I'm pretty sure more people move to Texas for jobs than any other state.

Give Memphis to Mississippi or Arkansas and Tennessee would be #1.

Mississippi has the lowest cost of living the last time I checked. That probably has a lot to do with it. I saw a report a while back on the “true value” of the dollar by state. States like California and New York you could get $1 worth of goods for like $1.85 and Mississippi you get get $1 worth of goods for $0.84

The Deep South has always been a cripple fight in these rankings, but Louisiana has spiraled out of control lately

This is true. My Mom was a Neuro-Oncology PA for almost 30 years at Emory. When she got cancer she insisted on going to MD Anderson. They were awesome and prolonged her life by almost a year past the initial estimate.

I think the Texans and Cowboys could take Auburn and Bama.

Des Moines isn’t bad either. I was really pleasantly surprised by that city.
