Are South Alabama Jags or Troy fans also UA & AU fans?

This is a serious question. Do people who are fans of these smaller schools also have their alligence to one of the big schools in Alabama? The same could go for Georgia Southern and Georgia State with UGA.
I see nothing wrong with this. Am I right
More football = good.

Everyone in Alabama is. And everyone that didn’t go to college on the MS coast and FL panhandle too.

Most probably grew up a fan of either Bama or Auburn.

I’m a Jag fan as well as Alabama. Really hoping for the new Stadium. Ladd is a dump and although I go its a terrible game day experience.

I have connections to Troy so I am a Troy fan and a Mississippi State fan. But I wouldn't consider myself a Troy fan first if that makes sense. Of the Troy games I'd been to I'd say most fans are Auburn fans with some Alabama fans too because Troy is a lot closer to Auburn and Montgomery than it is to Tuscaloosa and Birmingham.

In 2014 all Auburn fans became pseudo-UAB fans because they like to contradict big brother

Most of them, yes.
I know UAB has people, mostly alums, that are UAB fans only. They always hate Bama and usually don't care for Auburn either.
I've also met a handful if Troy alums who are Troy only, but every one of them that I know was an athlete at Troy.
I don't know a ton of Mobile people, but all the USA fans I know are also a fan of another SEC school, mostly Auburn but also Bama and a couple LSU or Florida as well

Is it common for people who graduated from Troy or USA to be die hard UA and AU fans?
UAB alumni hate UA? Never knew.

90% of UAB alums are either Alabama or Auburn fans in about a 60-40 split. The Auburn fans hate UA. The UA fans don't. The few with no loyalty to either school do not generally attend athletic events enough to care. Most of them are international students. The most vocal UAB fan I know is primarily an Auburn fan who gets really pissed when people call him out on it.
During new student orientation now, UAB is actively discouraging parents and students from openly showing allegiance to any school other than UAB. I sat through it last weekend. I think that if this can gain momentum, it will go a long way toward giving them a real identity.
ETA, I suspect the same is true of most Troy and USA students. The alums I've hired or that I know non-professionally all have other schools to pull for. Not always in state, but usually in the southeast. USA alums seem to have more out of state primary teams.

The vast majority of Southern kids are UGA fans. Spend most of their Fall weekends in Athens. Support UGA just as hard as they have their whole lives. There is a weird contingent of Southern fans though that see UGA as rivals, and try to shite talk us. Constantly bringing up their vaunted FCS national titles
State is eh, idk.

Lived in B’ham for a few years, during which they axed the UAB program because Bear Jr and the Bammer board of trustees thought that UAB was taking too many cruits and money from the Tide (UAB is part of the Univeristy is Alabama school system). Got ugly fast. While everyone in B’ham is a Blazer fan, I think UAB is trying to distance itself from big brother due to the animosity.

This is ridiculous. You can show allegiance to UAB for academics and show allegiance to UA for athletics. It’s not a conflict of interest. I don’t see why smaller schools have that inferiority complex.

It's thr same with UAH. They put in an interim president from Tuscaloosa that proceeded to kill the D1 hockey Program then promptly leave. Luckily some alumni raised the money to bring it back a couple years later.

Are we talking real Uga fans like die hards or they just go to Athens to party on game days bc it’s superior to anything Statesboro offers?
There’s kids like this in LA and I can’t tell if they’re actually big tiger fans or just go to BR to party because gameday is the shite and they have a lot of friends that go there.

Not entirely on topic, but I went to Alabama and MTSU is my G5 team because I grew up in southern middle Tennessee.
I don't know why everyone doesn't pick a G5 team to go along with a P5 team. It's a solid level of play, and P5 and G5 or lower programs aren't really competing against each other in any sport.

Damn so there actually is some animosity in Alabama between smaller schools and UA. I figured most folks there chose AU or UA despite their allegiance to their Alma mater such as UAB or Troy

Tuscaloosa treats the other campuses like absolute dog shite. UAB has one rep on the BOT and UAH has zero. That's the way they will keep it too.

That’s interesting. I’d say you’re a minority. Most folks who went to a P5 school don’t have a G5 school they also pull for. Good point though we all should have a G5.
The reason might be because most die hard G5 fans hate the larger instate P5 program because they feel like it holds them back.
