I doubt many coaches beyond Croom wanted to take over a job to work under Templeton following a nuclear bomb being dropped on State by the NCAA.

We told Jimbo Fisher no to hire Croom. Still makes me sick to my stomach. The ineptness of Miss State leadership before Byrne is mind-blowing. We have turned down Steve Spurrier and Jimbo Fisher to hire Rockey Felker and Sylvester Croom. And had it not been for Dr Z stepping in- Templedick would have hired Bobby Wallace over Jackie Sherrill.

Let that sink in

True story.

Thank God for Doc Fogelsong, who got rid of Templeton and hired Byrne, who got rid of Croom and Polk II.

But...but...USA Today praised the Miss St hire of Croom. The paper was effusive in its adulation. Shouldn't that count for something?

Bobby Wallace

Was it Wallace or Collins?

I’ve heard that Bobby Collins only chance back in to coaching after the SMU debacle was with State when Sherrill was hired.
