This election kind of reminds me of when Roy Barnes was running for re-election in 2004. Barnes had the 'flag flap.' Abrams is running on trying to deface Stone Mountain. Barnes thought he could pull the metro vote and have it in the bag. He underestimated the voting power of the rural precincts, and it got him beat.

Barnes lost the education vote. He made promises that he didn't keep.

There are about 115,000 educators in the state.

In 1998, Barnes won by 150,000 votes.
In 2002, Perdue won by 104,000 votes.
(Educators have spouses voting too).

If you want to win any local campaign, win the educators vote. They are the largest employer in my county.
Probably so in most counties.
