TJ and Straws agreeing on something... this off season has been too long and taken a strange turn.

just look at the charges, they are from the same incident...its domestic violence and although very disturbing...it will probably be reduced to misdemeanors as it is with the general public....not just UF football players....so put away the pitchforks.

I doubt that. Did YOU look at the charges?

Watkins was booked on four charges, including kidnapping/false imprisonment and domestic battery by strangulation.

I can’t believe you’re actually defending this piece of shite.

Just stop while you’re behind. You’re excusing intolerable behavior over football. That’s trash.

Mullen was at uf when the felons ran the show under urban. How urban is Mullen? Is he gonna kick him off? He had a woman beater at MSU. We know that.

I’m sure there is a roster spot for him in independence, Kansas. Hope he gets his shite together.

Hell has frozen over, I agree with TJ.
There should be zero tolerance for second offenses.
Kids will be kids but when they get in trouble the first time, it should be made perfectly clear to them that a second offense will be cause for dismissal from the team. No exceptions. We should be better than this.

I understand what you said and agree as far as the legal system and way it works, but he should no longer be part of the Gator football program.

Mullen suspended him from all team activities
That's not harsh enough
Under the SEC policy, that should be a no brainer, kick off immediately

You don’t want him to be proven Guilty first? Mullen needs to get all the info, if it happened the way the report says then adios. Which will more than likely be the case. If you kick him off immediately and he didn’t do it, well that’s not a good situation either. I think Mullen did all he could do at this point, gotta let it play out.

I agree, suspension until case is decided, if guilty, bye, bye!

It's always disappointing when a kid represents your program like this. however, you really don't have any control over what a kid does until after the fact. The true measure is how the coach reacts to it.

Hopefully Mullen will take proper action and send a message to the rest of the team.

It is telling that this is the second incident in two months. This kids future does not look bright.

And it might happen. Mullen suspended him first, until they can get to the bottom of this. If Florida has an idea that it went down as reported, I'm sure they will take proper action.

I know UGA has had some starling elite players, RB Crowell (who you had to fight with Bama for), # 1 rated RB in the country but he liked drugs and guns.

Find somewhere where I stated he should be on the team?

Its all related to girlfriends where he obviously doesn't get it. But the felonies are third degree and will almost for sure be reduced because of his age. I will let the coaches and admin decide what should happen...none of us have the facts of the case...but he had a previous incident with a girl (maybe same one?) where he kicked her car.
That doesn't bode well for him...but the courts have the case and facts will be determined. Guilty of misdemeanors doesn't mean he is accepted back on the team and if he is....Im sure there will be a lot of issues that would have to be resolved first. Guilty of a felony means no way no how.

Yes. And Georgia kicked him off the team. The gun charges were dismissed fwiw, but he had a lot of disciplinary issues. He also had a penchant for taking himself out of games due to injuries, which may, or may not have been legitimate.

I assume from here you are answering someone else as I didn't say this.

You forget to add in Van Jefferson, Trevon Grimes, Jean Delance, Adam Shuler, and Marlon Dunlap then? If you’re going to subtract guys that Mullen signed, then you need to include all the guys Mullen signed. For intellectual honesty, if nothing else.

I mean, there is the small, small chance that this is an overblown charge and the police were just trying to screw him over. I told a story on another forum the other day that someone might have been able to levy this charge at me since I wouldn't let my ex-girlfriend walk barefooted through Mexico City at 3 AM to her mom's house because she was throwing one of her famous tantrums. I don't even remember why she was mad but I definitely inhibited her from leaving.

However, even if we're in best case scenario land, it doesn't wipe away the fact that this is the second time he's gone after a female and it's not the same female. So pretending like he's just been misunderstood -- even thinking there is a chance is probably not even in the realm of reality.

There's a .01% chance this story is like my own and he is just being railroaded by the system.
