Too many in that upper tier. John Hannah and Derrick Thomas are considered all timers. Probably one of them Thomas was essentially a defensive end, and the coaches asked him to cover Chris Carter in the 4th quarter against Ohio State. Man coverage against one of the best receivers of all time. That’s the kind of athlete DT was

DT was relentless, if he would’ve been dedicated to clean living as say Tim Tebow there’s no doubt he would have challenged LT as the best LB of all time....., which begs the question, how good would LT have been sans the coke habit?

Hell, maybe it was the drugs and partying that made them both HOF’ers. Lol!

Derrick Thomas is someone I can relate to probably more than most. The Chiefs had always been one of my favorite 3-4 NFL teams. 2 years prior to DT's tragic accident I was paralyzed with the exact same injury as DT's in a car wreck I had 12/21/98. Knowing what I went thru with the injury I never wanted to see another person go thru it, I wouldn't wish it on Hitler. But public awareness is what it will take to lead to a cure. I hoped DT could pick up the baton from Chris Reeves and be an advocate for SCI awareness that would lead in new treatments. Sadly he only lived 16 days with. I'm closing in on 20 years, but no doubt Derrick was a beast. Gone to soon
