Holy frick, I only ever post on mobile and had no idea he had Steve Gaines as his avi.
I think I have a new favorite poster.... I'm obsessed with Steve Gaines, y'all have no idea. If I ever bump into the devil I only have one asking price for my soul, all the musical talent of Steve Gaines.
So here's my question for DownSouthJukin:
Do you want to be my best frand?
Before you answer, just think of the potential our Alliance could have. Working as a tag-team we could DP tRant deeper than its ever been deep dicked before, and it would never know what hit it. Our legend would live on in internet lore for eternity

I'm the trendsetter here. This never would have been possible without me agreeing to let KSGamecock piggyback the pilot thread off my tier 1 clout. Thusly, I deserve at least 15% of all your praise on the subject.
TIA

Down south, how did it feel to beat Bama the first time and how good of a coach do you think Freeze really is?

I enjoy DSJ. One of my favorite and friendliest posters on here.
I'll come up with some questions in a bit.

Steve Gaines was one of the most talented guitarsts ever-he just didn’t have enough time on this Earth for the unwashed masses to be given the gift of the entirety of that talent. The man could also write a song.

Great-like breaking out of SEC West jail. But Hugh Freeze being Hugh Freeze was bound to frick up later in the season to lose games he should win. Like LSU and Arkansas.
Hugh Freeze was a good coach, but he had some Les Miles moments and in the end he was just another snake oil salesman.

Chevy and GMC right now.
And I didn’t realize I posted on the Cancer Board so much. It’s probably not good for me.

I was speaking of being held hostage by this garbage. I have 4 days of it coming my way this way this week.
Tito's, take me away.

I love his signing voice too. "You Got That Right" is my favorite Skynyrd song. I'm sure you've heard his solo album from before Skynyrd?
Ronnie used to tell people that Steve would end up outshining the whole band, and with Ronnie seeming to have some premonition of his early death I really believe that he was grooming Steve to take over the band. Damn shame Ronnie had to take out Steve and Cassie with him.... I've watched some interviews with some guys that played with him in Oklahoma before Skynyrd and they say he was holding back because he didn't want to overstep his bounds as the new guy, but with Ronnie's backing he was getting more comfortable and getting ready to unleash once the tour was over and it was time to write/record again.

Steve Gaines was he only person that Ronnie felt comfortable enough with to walk off the stage in the middle of a song and let Steve carry it. "You Got That Right" showcases Steve's vocal talent every well. (See my sig line-it's also one of my favorite Skynyrd tunes.)
I've listened to all of his solo work that I can find. The One in the Sun compilation shows the breadth of his solo talent.
And this version of pre-Skynyrd "I Know a Little" is great: LINK
Miss. State posters hate you. That may be a good place to start...

You got damn good musical tastes my brotha
I was already a fan when you posted that DBT playlist yesterday, even before this thread was posted and I learned that you preach the Gospel of Steve Gaines
Well I love them, they're fun to play with.
I have something in mind for them, but with people out doing their 4th stuff today I think it'll be more effective to wait til tmrw to post it.

There was a thread on the Music Board proclaiming Prince's greatness with a guitar and one poster told me that because Steve Gaines didn't do the splits while playing guitar and didn't play in a Super Bowl halftime show in the rain that he wasn't as good of a guitarist a Prince.

Jesus Christ
that's why I don't go over to that board much
I mean, I got a buddy who at 15 could play a solo with his teeth or behind his back. Best guitarist I know personally and he's amazing. Still ain't no damn Steve Gaines though. They say pretty much all Steve did was practice every waking hour. One of his buddies tols a story about how when he knocked on Steve's door and woke him up Steve answered the door wiping his eyes and wearing nothing but his boxers and his guitar around his neck because he would regularly practice right up until he fell asleep
