If he didn't sign, he would be a Senior in next year's draft with zero leverage, so how exactly is he benefiting from not signing?
Bringing up Karsten Whitson doesn't even make any sense as he's the perfect example of why you SHOULD sign, especially as a pitcher. He declined $2.1 million, went to school, got hurt, turned out to not be that good anyway, and ultimately signed for $100,000.

It wasn't the #1 pick, but not far behind.....
This kid losing millions by falling from RD1 to RD11 is a great example why only morons don't sign RD1 deals.
Mize's only real leverage is to threaten complete stupidity and making a horrible life decision. Most people don't call that leverage
