Alabama's week is off to a good start as DeMarcco Hellams committed to the Crimson Tide on Monday night, he announced during his official visit to Tuscaloosa.

The Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic product chose Bama over several other programs like Clemson, Maryland, and Virginia Tech, among others.

I might be wrong, but to me it's looking like he might be up for grabs soon. South Carolina and Auburn are in McCullough's top-4 too, though. Too bad, y'all just landed a couple of safeties.

On 2nd thought, if y'all get McCullough, Pruitt could put Harris at nickel or Beasley at LB. Btw, imo both are very good gets -- lots of upside.

Mike Locksley, Josh Gattis & Saban all have good recruiting ties/chops in the DMV/WV/NJ area.

Saban made the DMV a priority in recruiting early on in his career at Alabama.

He has always maintained a guy on staff with ties there. But Mike Locksley and Josh Gattis have deep roots in the mid-Atlantic.

Believe D. Martz and M. Brown were both from DeMatha.

Brown played for Dubose and Fran. Martz played for Shula.
